An absolutely wonderful human and lovely teacher to take as a 1L! Appreciate his positivity and love his willingness to help. I personally loved Elements and thought it really helped break down legal analysis and build skills needed for other classes. Read, be prepared & professional, and you will do great!

Wish UM would stop making this class mandatory for 1Ls. Some people really like Fajer and some people don't. I didn't. I give him points for trying to help students out of class, but the material was uninteresting and the presentation of that material was confusing. With a plethora of outstanding professors at UM law, I will never take fajer again.

Very unique guy. Not his fault class is outdated and pointless. Will call on you in class and seems to take it personally at times if you don't know the answer or haven't read. He can't comprehend how someone could NOT understand material. Very ADD. Grades final in part based on how much you write. Very good about reviewing final after fact.

It's obvious that he really cares about his students learning the material. At times he can rush through material with ppt slides, but most of the time he takes the time to fully explain the material, and what he want his students to understand. His exam was not unreasonable as long as you pay attention in class.

He gives an inordinate amount of resources for the final (literally hundreds of pages of answers) Which also means that he expects a ridiculous amount. His teaching style is not for me, he basically talks and unless you're a naturally organized person I think it's really difficult to stay up with him or figure out what he's actually saying.

class is pointless, but you have to attend so take something to do. he has favorites that he calls on(focuses on cute guys mostly). MOST ANAL-RETENTIVE MAN EVER. he's a caring and sweet man, but it doesn't overcome the awfulness of his class, test, and assignments. just avoid.

really cares about students doing well but fails to realize that not all of us have time to do a million review questions and practice exams. he sings and cries at the end of every class and lunch w/ him is one of the most awkward experiences u'll ever have

Enjoyable w/ light workload. Problem: work has nothing to do with the exam. The exam is a weird hypo derived from the general princples discussed in class (which are zaney and interesting!). Class is about analysis; analysis is about how smart you are. If you're smart, you'll do well; if you're not, it'll show. Ignore Practice exams except Q3.

My favorite 1L class. Anyone who has Prof fajer and cares learns legal analysis and what is important in a law school class. Do all discussion questions and practice exams and you will do well. He gives you everything you need, it is up to you to do the work. He offers good legal analysis and substantive property law. Highly recommended.
