Marc is a great guy, but he never stops talking and has a horrible habit of saying "you know what I mean?" or a variation of it every few sentences (counted once: 58). Sometimes he doesn't even take a breath long enough for you to ask a question. But he is always happy to help and will make himself available outside his office hours if you need it.

One of the best profs i've had! He really makes the material interesting and entertaining. He's one of those teachers that makes you want to go to class. The tests sound difficult but if you attend class and read the plays they're not bad at all. Great class! I highly recommend taking it

Marc is amazing. He's so passionate and a wonderful teacher. If you pay attention and take notes in lecture and actually read the plays, the class is a breeze. He makes his expectations crystal clear. Do not be afraid to talk to him because he loves Shakespeare and if he knows that you care enough to seek help it will make a difference.

Marc is a great professor. It's always nice to learn from someone who is extremely passionate about the material, and Marc LOVES Shakespeare. There is a pretty informal group performance that may seem daunting at first, but it was really a blast. I definitely recommend this class.

I took this class because I wanted to learn more about Shakespeare. And other than Marc being terribly boring a lot of the time, I did actually learn some interesting things. I loved that our only tests were a midterm and a final, and the homework was to just read the plays. Marc was nice, but I slept through a lot of his classes.

Marc is extremely passionate about Shakespeare, which made the class more interesting. however, he goes off on random tangents a lot which don't make a lot of sense. only has a midterm and a final which is nice, and not a whole lot of work required outside of class. overall, a good teacher.

I agree, he is definitely enthusiastic, but not my type of teacher. Constantly interrupts and goes on and on about everything, I am always tuning him out. Has good analysis of Shakespeare but is annoying in the way he goes about it. Also slightly judgmental. I would probably not take another class with him.

This guy is the weirdest prof i have ever had. Attendance is mandatory which means you have to come to come an listen to his babbling. When the discussions are supposed to be for STUDENTS he takes over the entire thing. trails off n talks about things in class not even on his test, but the tests r the easiest you will ever take. quote=interpret

This was a really fun class. Even if you don't like shakespeare that much, Marc is a great teacher and is really enthusiastic about what he teaches. There is a lot of reading, but as long as you keep up, it's not that bad. Midterm, final & group presentation. There are also some other random assignments on the side. GREAT gur!

Great guy. Really enthusiastic about Shakespeare. His goal is to make know how to read it on your own and to enjoy it, and in my case he most certainly did. Uses clips from movies (especially those by Kenneth Branagh)rather than just read all the time. The performance part is a lot of fun, and it's a great way to meet cool people. Great class.

I love love love Marc. :) So enthusiastic and really does an excellent job illuminating the material and helping you interpret. Fun in class: gesticulates, makes eye contact a lot, and does the fill-in-the-blank pause thing constantly. Really accessible and helpful. Tests can be tough, but it's not too much reading and an overall wonderful class.

Marc does a wonderful job of taking complicated plays and making them interesting. He uses way too many "fill in the blank" parts in his lecture. But it is not too bad after a while. He will get you thinking sexually even when you are not sure that it is even in the reading. He is a great teacher. Highly recommend his classes!!

Marc was fantastic about illuminating the theory in our anthology through his lectures/class discussions. He was very enthusiastic and often asked "are you guys getting this?" Very good about office meetings and responding to email questions. I enjoyed the course and learned a lot in a short time. Lot's of energy, great guy. Knows his subject.

Good at explaining what is happening in the plays. Very enthusiastic. Definitely likes too talk a lot about the hidden sexual messages happening. Read an act of a play for every class. Reading ahead helps.
