Marc is hilarious. He is well spoken and very, very educated which makes him great for teaching but also hard to listen to for a long time because he never stops talking. Great professor, though. Has been there for me multiple times and is overall just a very charismatic person that is a favorite on campus.

Excellent teacher and will make you learn. VERY tough grader and an "A" in one of his upper level classes is almost impossible to get. If you want to learn, take and Oreilly class, if you want an A, might want to look elsewhere.

Very few professors are more arrogant. Prepare to hear about his "impressive" educational background and to use the books he's written exclusively. His hubris is only surpassed by his ridiculous grading system; he takes it as a point of pride that few people get A's. Beware.

He has very high expectaions of his students but they are not unattainable...I actually got an A in a Marc class...not an A-...an actual A. When you can get an A in his class you really feel like you deserve it because they are hard to come by...all of those B+ screwed my chances of having a 4.0 though. He stays later than any professor I know, it's very likely to see him at 10pm in the Campus Center. He always goes the extra mile to help a student out.
