Professor Pufong is not the type of instructor you choose if you are not willing to put in A+ effort. He will help you earn that A with alo t of extra credit assignments but you will work for it. They are essential if you want to keep up a good average.

I found this class to be fairly easy, however, it requires you to actually do all the work outside of class. Dr. Pufong is very hard to understand and does not cover all of the test material in class, but as long as you study his study guides, you will ace the test.

Dr Pufong is incredibly difficult to understand, and we never talked about anything relevant. Not once did we have a class period focused on the election (this is American Government). He does care and try to help his students but is not very good at it. Kinda funny tho. He also is a tough grader and be prepared to present. Study guides help tho.

I am a bio major and took this class to get my full load. Do not take him. He is very rude and you cannot understand him. I have organic chem and he was giving more work than my chem class... I dropped his class rather fast. If your views aren't the same as his, he makes fun of you.

I've never been concerned about a class I've taken at VSU until my first day in pufong's class. He always late, goes on tangents, and is impossible to understand. He is insulting to his students and his tests are incredibly hard.

I am currently enrolled in Pufong's class. I am an A student and I have never been more disrespected in my entire life. He is an awful teacher who prys and belittles his students any chance he gets. He is no help and will not take one ounce of interest in you unless you want to go to law school. He needs to be fired, ruining VSU.

He's the worst teacher I have ever had. He gives you assignments that don't even relate to the class. The essays can get up to 60 pages long (if you're unlucky). I will advise everyone I know to never take this class

The regret I have for taking this class is immense. You cannot understand him, his tests might as well be AP tests, and his extra credit is a joke (you'll spend 3 to 5 hours on it and you might not even get credit if he doesn't like it). Unclear about grading as well. DO NOT TAKE unless you have no other option. Honors classes are easier than this.

Too much required work for a two hour perspectives class. The first test was given over 3 chapters and everyone was clueless about the second chapters. Things were not presented in an easy to understand manner. Everything except tests and quizzes are group projects, so pick the right partner and day 1!

Dr. Pufong is very kind and helpful. He is always in his office and always willing to give advice. I have never met a professor who is so willing to give sincere advice to students. Too often, it seems students are a burden to professors or as if they do not want to spend time advising students. But Dr. Pufong is the opposite. He enjoys helping.

Despite a lot of the comments on this page, I really like him. He's helpful, you can always find him in his office. Sure you have to work in the class, but it's an upper-level class, that's expected. Sorry if you have to earn your grade; this after all is college. He's very lenient with grades at the end of the term, you'll learn a lot, take him!!

DO NOT TAKE. Nice person, very intelligent. But his coursework will overwhelm you. I don't care who you are. I took a 4000 level class and we had OVER 20 homework assignments. He is late to class 100% of the time and will hold the class 10mins over the time 100% of the time. I have no reason to lie. His class is unnecessary stress, I promise

Professor Pufong is a really nice guy and seems willing to help you with you future goals. However, instructions are never really clear until after the assignment has been turned in. He's a nice guy and really smart, but the class is realy hard and requires A LOT of work.

He speaks with a crazy strong accent. He grades on his own whim without meeting his own requirements. His rubric is very unclear and he constantly contradicts it. His favorite example is speeding tickets. He will find a way to relate this to everything. Do not take him if you want to learn law. He will bore you to death. The book taught me more.

This is the first college professor I disliked. :/ He actually will argue with you if you ask him questions about the way he teaches/grades. His accent is extremely thick. His perspectives class was too hard to only earn 2 credit hours so I withdrew. Wouldn't recommend him. He also had a confusing syllabus that he abides by religiously.

I took him for the honors intro class, and he's not that bad at all. Just follow the syllabus religiously, take notes from the power point, and ask questions, you'll be fine. Sometimes he is not clear and hard to understand, but you just have to ask him.

This class was awful. It's not only because it's hard to understand him, but because he rambles, and doesn't stay on topic for long. His tests are hard, and you have questions to do.. alot of them. If you are dedicated and really like Political Science, you would probably do just fine though.

It's college, it's work, as are his classes. He definitely helped me get into grad school (at a top ranked school) and has been a connection since. Go to class, put in the time and you will get an A, plus some help in the future. He was also my advisor and really went to bat for me on some major stuff...so just saying...

This is the worst perspectives class, do not take! He is really hard to understand and it is way to hard for a PERS course, you have to write a ten page paper with a partner... Also, if he is your advisor, if you do not do exactly what he says, he will yell at you. Not fun! Would not recommend taking him.
