Darden is a great professor. This is his first year at the University of Michigan, but he is a great fit. He is much more down-to-earth than most CS faculty and is very approachable. He doesn't go into as much detail in lectures as Paoletti does; Darden keeps things more concise. *EECS 281 is still a very difficult class however, go to office hours

I put in more time in the class than every other student. I read and completed each assignment that was given. None of this mattered as he would go off on a tangent that was always completely unrelated to our studies. I wanted to learn, but instead I was shafted just like all of his other students. Now he has a job as Michigan. He wont last.

Not a very good teacher. However, many students love him because of his dreadlocks and the fact he often is late for class. No students are ever penalized for being late themselves. Good to take if you aren't interested in learning anything from the prof, but would rather learn on your own without wasating time in class or dealing with the prof.

You get out of his classes what you put in. If you are motivated, interested, and want to be challenged then you'll have a positive experience. If you aren't, then you probably won't like him much. Welcome to college folks.

Very unhelpful. Sometimes doesn't come to class. Not reliable. Very hard to contact if you need assistance. Has the attitude that if it's harder for students to contact him, it's that much better for him. should NOT be chair of Computer Science department. Avoid this prof. If thinking of Olivet for Computer Science, you may want to reconsider.
