Now I realize that this is a 3000 level Geology class, so the work load is expected, but even as a enthusiastic and focused Geology major, this class was bonkers. Tests are graded completely subjective to how she thinks the answer should be, so for the most part even a completely right answer will receive credit off.

She loves her subject but the homework often times has nothing to do with the textbook and you can't even get help on the Internet, which is terrifying. It's a pointless class to take if you're not a Geology major, because she definitely will think that you are.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! It is horrid! The open book portion of the tests will kick your butt, and the rest of it is not that great. She is a good teacher, but her tests and assignments are difficult.

This is a VERY VERY VERY labor intensive class. BUT very good at improving many geology skills. Dont expect any breaks on grading- it's not in her nature. It's a soils class at the core.She's blunt, very smart, and enjoys being referred to as a hard teacher.

Comment:

She knows a lot about geology and is always filled with interesting personal experiences, pictures, and up to date current events relating to geology. Her grading scale is the MOST confusing thing ever. Don't even attempt to understand. Overall really enjoyed the class except sometimes she makes you feel dumb because you don't have a degree.

Her class is not a blow-off. She is a good teacher, but the tests and take-home homework are difficult. She will help if you email or go to office hours. There is a field trip that replaces your lab final. Don't have to do the reading, just read the summary for the quizzes. Use the book and your notes to study. Find a study buddy, it will help.

For the love of all that is good in this world, NEVER take this class. Open book parts of her tests are ridiculously hard, homework assignments are frustrating, she quizzes way too much, and there is a ten hour fieldtrip on a Saturday that you get pressured into attending because otherwise you have to take the final. She is a nice, her class is not

The honors class isn't too difficult, but it was hard not to fall asleep. Every day is a slideshow with a lecture. Every slideshow is the same and boring. She will keep you in class the full time, sometimes a min. or 2 over. She's really excited about geology, but for the usual business student taking this class as a science credit, it is not fun.

I had a 4.0 going into this class, but then got a C+ in this one. Some people seemed to get it okay, but overall, I found this be next to impossible. I couldn't every seem to prepare adequately for the test questions. Guccione is quite merciless and unforgiving on final grades as well and obstinately refuses to consider bumps.

I really was planning on hating this lady but I ended up really liking her. Her class is by no means easy but she was very nice. Make sure you do the homework! In the end it makes up for her tests being impossible. Thats the only way I got an A. Her ratings on here were intimidating but she's not that bad. Just do your work and you'll be fine.

A really nice lady, liked her a lot. Clearly knows her stuff well and tried hard to make it interesting though lecture was often boring; I know I would have done better had I had the time to have properly applied myself. Grades are not handed to you, you lazy muffins. Read the book, go to lecture, STUDY. She will expect you to apply your learning.

Her lectures are boring but Guccione is a very nice person. You will need to know your book, notes, and homework assignments for the tests, however they are not difficult at all. Homework assignments are easy A's. Many people in my class had trouble understanding the assingments and I honestly had no idea why, they were extremely simple.

I don't understand all the negative comments. I admit her lectures can be slightly boring. However, she's a very likable person, and she tries to make geology applicable to life. She's always willing to answer questions. Her tests aren't preschool level, but if you study a little and just do the assignments you'll make an A. I know, I've done it!

This is an honors class and is more demanding than regular classes. You have to read the book for quizzes and tests, and the instructions for homework assigments are difficult to understand sometimes. Closed book section of test was MC and easier if u're good at memorization. Have to understand concepts for open book section

Guccione is a very nice woman. She is kind of boring, but if you half pay attention she is fine. Make friends in the class-they will help you get through the semester. I am very glad I took this class because I have learned a lot. Take this class if you are a none math person, there isn't any! She is a good, understanding teacher.

This class was AWFUL! one of the most frustrating ones ever. I'm gonna put a stop to the rumors... its NOT easy! The homework assignments are busy work and you have quizes all the time. The tests are impossible. I studied for 6 hours for one test & still got a low B. And her grading system is MESSED UP! I couldn't even figure it out.

awful. never. ever. take this class. it's not worth it, not matter how easy you think it's going to be or how well it fits into your schedule. not only was it insanely boring it was extremely hard. all in all the most frustrating experience in my academic career. DONT DO IT.

i was surprised at how boring and difficult this class was. she treats you like you're in kindergarten with these stupid homework assignments, and her notes are straight from the book, so you hardly need to go to class. frustration!
