Comment:

Dr. Bell is really nice and wants you to learn. She isn't easy, but no A&P ever is; at least she's clear on what you need to do and what tests are over. Quizzes really help you know what you'll be tested over and the class is formatted really well to help you stay on track without too much difficulty.

Comment:

Took her class online. With the student test questions due every other day and quizzes, it was very hard to keep up. I worked a full time job and stayed up doing homework until midnight most nights. It was hard to study for tests because she would skip lectures completely on tests. It also took a long time to get grades updated.

By far the worst class I have ever taken and the worst professor I have ever had. It doesn't matter if you give everything you have and more... such a waste of time and money. She basically sets you up for failure through the entire course, gives projects and quizzes like no other with nothing to study. No study guide provided for the final either.

If you have a lot of spare time and an extra $500 to blow then take her for lab. If not, then Id suggest getting another instructor or class. There is a ridiculous amount of work to do outside of lab class. I have talked to other biology lab professors and they too think its ridiculous. She is a very nice lady personally, but the lab class is

Dr. Bell is a great professor! She breaks down the material so it is easy to understand. Lots of studying and reading and you will do just fine. This is not an easy class and you will need to apply yourself.

Has something due nearly every day of the week, including weekends and holidays. LOTS of quizzes and assignments, but they only count for about 15% of your total grade. Exams are extremely difficult and tricky.

This class takes a lot of work, time, studying, and money to pass. Her outside of class labs involve cutting, coloring, and making weird food items. Her lectures are not very helpful and she is very eccentric, not in a good way. Does things on her own time such as grading or posting material you need. Terrible tedious class.

Dr. Bell is very nice and loves science. Her class is very tough and you will spend the majority of your time studying for this course. she gives a ridiculous amount of work and quizzes and takes forever to grade your work. she lectures and wont post power points unless you ask her to do so. The exams come from lectures and some of the power points

This course is one for NON MAJORS and I had more homework in it than my other three classes combined. Required a LOT of homework - especially for lab. Some required assignments were cooking, cutting coloring & pasting, etc. I definitely felt my time was not valued. Also a very disorganized class/grading system. l DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Dr. Janowski-Bell takes a potentially overwhelming subject and breaks it down so that one can easily understand. She shares interesting facts and explains her method for remembering details about the subject being studied. There are a lot of quizzes, but she provides practice quizzes as well. I wish she taught the lecture class!

At first I had a hard time with Bell's class because she treats everyone as if they are biol majors but once I talked to her during office hours she was VERY helpful and I actually passed! Tests are not terrible but are pretty hard and quizzes which are given every day are HARD. I did not pass ANY quizzes. Assignments are super easy. shes okay.

Had her for the lecture portion of this class. Goes pretty fast in lecture, quizzes almost every lecture (at the beginning, so don't be late). Doesn't follow the book at all, so try to keep up w/ her PowerPoints... she may not post them online, so you'll have to go to her and ask. She focuses on some topics a lot and others not at all. Eccentric.

I took this course over the summer, so it was quick. I had to take a different prof for the lecture, but took her for lab. We had a pre and post quiz everyday, then a quiz at the end of class. I loved her! She made sure everyone understood & gave methods to remember. Tests were easy (I'm a visual learner). I wish she did the lecture & BIOL 2420!

Comment:

Dr. Bell is a great teacher for both A&P and Microbiology. Shes very helpful and patient. Just DON'T talk while she's talking!! She made the material easy to understand and makes sure that we all understand it. Lab tests were all pretty easy if you study. She has a different sense of humor, but overall she's been my favorite teacher.

She was my lab instructor for both A&P I & II. I felt like she made her lectures entertaining and it wasn't hard to engage. Participation is mandatory with a clicker, there are exit questions, and pre and post quizzes, so it's a lot of work, but without her I would have never done so well in A&P. Highly recommend!

You will have a quiz almost ever class. Her tests are meant to trick you and not in an easy way. She goes way too fast on the power points. Grades things in her own time (especially tests) which keeps you in suspense for weeks. Forgets constantly. Not very down to earth. Eccentric (not the good kind). If you don't need this class avoid at all cost.
