I loved professor Brunette, she is great at teaching. She is really knowledgeable around what she is teaching and shares a lot of personal experiences which makes the class much funner, and interesting. The class was tough at times yet is college so it wasn't something i wasn't expecting. She is great and i can take her again i would 100%.

Rarely gives rubrics and feedback consist of circling entire paragraphs with no specific comments. Showed up for 2/3 of scheduled classes with no specific reason besides notating absence. Counselor in charge of public health faculty referred to her as a problematic professor that needs to be damage controlled for student's grades and wellbeing.

Literally the worst professor I have ever had. There is not enough space to fully describe how terrible this class is. Honestly, I'm convinced that she is the one writing positive reviews for herself. This lady is seriously twisted. All of the negative reviews are 100% accurate. You've been warned.

Seems like a very smart and passionate about her outside work in Public Health. However I have found she is not detailed with her lectures and does not give students a textbook to self teach on. Her papers are very long 5-10 pages single spaced. Her biggest problem is her deadlines are unrealistic and somewhat impossible. Does not respond to emails

unrealistic expectations for an intro class. short papers are assigned a week before they're due and are 5 pages minimum single spaced. generally unenthusiastic and ambivalent to student success. switch professors if you can.

She mandated that group papers be written in a single style between the members, so one person essentially does all the work. If you had to miss class for illness, you couldn't email in your assignment, and 15%/day means a paper due Mon. turned in on Wed. (next scheduled class) took 30% off your paper. Lectures were great though, learned a lot.

She will challenge you but hey, you are at college! This is not a high school which is what many students think. Some students found her rude and tough but in my opinion those were the ones that don't take college seriously. They just show up and expect to pass classes easy. I found professor Brunette highly professional and an expert in her field.

She is a very disciplined professor who cares about and respects her students. Reading before you come to class is very important to her. She is very knowledgeable about her subject. Some students misunderstand her because of her background. Overall, she is a great teacher, I would highly recommend her and definitely take her class again.

Professor Brunette was a wonderful professor. It was clear that she put a lot of time and energy preparing for the course. It is not easy teaching a six week course in Global Health. The reading materials and films she choose were excellent. I only recommend this course to mature students who are willing to put forth their best effort.

Prof Brunette is a great professor with a lot of knowledge and experience in global health. She is very big on being respectful and putting effort into your work. I found all of her topics and materials to be intersting, useful and relevant to the subject matter. There is a lot of material at times, which can be tough, try to stay organized!

Professor Brunette is very accommodating and flexible during my father's passing near finals. Throughout the semester, I enjoyed her class because not only was the subject interesting but she was the type of teacher that tried her best to help her students learn and gave good feedback on how to improve. Overall, I liked the class.

Maria is a great professor as long as you try! Many complain for no reason b/c they simply won't respect her. Basically, just don't use your phone and pay attention. Very interesting class that I enjoyed a lot! Maria knows a lot about global health and her assignments stay up-to-date on actual global health issues today which is great! Easy grader!

Dr. Brunette is tough, and can appear to be rough around the edges, but she simply commands respect in her classroom. I found her material to be informative, although the lectures were a bit long. The assignments were specific, but if you followed them, I found her grading to be fair. She is BLUNT, but give respect, and you will get it in return.

I took this class as a "interesting" gen ed . She has no respect for her students and is highly unclear. Her lectures boring. I was IN THE HOSPITAL on the day she assigned groups for the final project, didn't give me a group, and now I'm doing 3-4 peoples worth of work by myself(40% of grade). Very nit picky and rude. Would NOT! recommend.

This teacher is awful. We had a group project worth 40% of our grade and she pretty much let us know AFTER we handed it in what she wanted on it. DO NOT TAKE HER. She is very rude, is not there for her students, and will not respond to emails or work around your schedule. Worst teacher at UML.

She has extremely unrealistic expectations. She's not at her office ever when she says she will be. Chooses to ignore emails that she later says thought weren't important to respond to. Gets upset and angry when asked to clarify her instructions. Inflexible and outright rude at times. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

I have never had a worse teacher in my life. She doesn't explain anything. I asked a few questions about the 'short'paper(6-8pgs single spaced)and she said 'it will make more sense once you start doing it.'How am I going to do it if I dont know how to start. Her expectations are unrealistic for GEN ED,and now I have to drop it because Ill fail.
