Not hard to get an A in her class but not worth it. She can be super disrespectful, close minded, and unprofessional. She crosses the line, and you're doing yourself a favor if you choose not to take her. If you don't share her opinion or see something differently than her, get ready to be attacked about things irrelevant from class. AVOID.

Maria is a great teacher and will help get your writing in shape for the english department. She allows revisions until your paper is an A and meets with you to go over any revisions. Not strict about deadlines. She's very outspoken which some people don't like but is cooler than seems at 1st impression. Need to talk at least once a class for an A.

Maria is a little intimidating at first, but she really does want you to succeed and will work with you to improve. Will help revise your papers to perfection with no due dates, and is very understanding as long as you communicate with her. Class is very participation-heavy, though (she expects you to talk at least once every class).

Maria is an extremely bright woman and because of that her class can be very interesting but she is very outspoken and it can come off as rude and sometimes disrespectful. If you are going to take her class be prepared to be told you are wrong/stupid, she only accepts ideas that she agrees with and there is no room for other opinions or ideas

My biggest issue with Maria is her use of scare tactics. If you have speaking anxiety or are just shy to speak in class or under a lot of pressure, whatever you do, do not take class with Maria ever. All she expects is participation, you could utter out complete garbage and it would still be better than not talking. Not worth it.

We read A LOT in this class, and I'm not a reader. But with that said, her "textbooks" are just regular novels so don't be too worried. I took her INTD 105 Haiti Noir class and it's my favorite class. Her classes are engaging and she's very humorous, just be prepared to work for it. You revise papers all the time and need to participate to do well.

Lima is a great professor, although very difficult, which she makes clear from the first day. This class will make you an amazing writer, as Lima will tear your work up and help you to grow with each new draft. Take her at least once.

I'll be honest, I'm terrified of Maria. She's very outspoken and is very strict on her classroom policies. She demands respect by intimidation, which isn't really the best learning style for me personally. With that being said, the woman is ridiculously bright, knows what she's talking about, and knows what she wants. You'll learn a lot.

Can be amazingly supportive when it comes to writing papers. She will literally help you revise an essay as many times as it takes to earn an A. However, if you're not good at showing up to class and being there on time DO NOT TAKE. She gets really annoyed with people being late, and won't take any excuses for absences.

Maria is a hilarious woman that cares to death about her job and your success in the class. She lets you write your paper as many times as you want until you get an A on it. Reading and class participation are important but as long as you read the assignments and talk at least once a class you're guaranteed an A. One of my favorite teachers ever.

I love Maria's class! She is funny, lively, unusual. Participation is a must so if you think you're shy you might not enjoy her as much. She does not keep a gradebook and will not give your essays a formal grade until it's an A. Speaking of essays, she will let you rewrite your paper AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED to get an A. TAKE THIS CLASS!

This class is a mind opener, but in a good way. You will learn things that you never have thought about and it really helps open the mind. Maria doesnt even keep a grade book, and grades are based on paper comments that she reviews at the end. she doesnt take off points for lateness either. all you have to do is come to class and participate!

I am simultaneously horrified and fascinated by Maria. She is always entertaining, but can be a little harsh at times, and I don't like how she'll sometimes announce grades in front of the class. If you go to see her before an essay is due she is extremely helpful. Read the books, even answering a simple question will get you participation points.

She's easy, but nonetheless, believe the hype. If you find yourself an unobtrusive personality, she'll guilt you into feeling sorry for yourself for not having strong opinions regarding "world issues." A delicious quote of hers I can recall goes "all my white students look the same." Tyler Durden-esque in her views and ultimate hypocrisy.

The nicest, most helpful, and entertaining professor i have ever had. Not a dull moment in her class, and if you are willing to work, she takes accommodation for your effort. Go to class, and hand in as many drafts as you want and she will help you, because she actually cares. Awesome professor and like she will tell you "The best prof. at geneseo.

It is not hard to get an A in Lima's class. She wants you to get the A. All you have to do is talk in class, write some responses, and write/re-write assigned papers. She never sets exact due dates, so you never feel rushed. Just do the readings for class and you're golden.

I'll be honest...Maria is an opinionated feminist, but what is wrong with being that? NOTHING!!! She can back up what she says (like she tells her students to do in her writing) and is one of the most intelligent people I've ever encountered. She will help you with anything you ask her to and YOU MUST TALK IN CLASS! Overall, she gets an A!

She will spend most of the class reminding you of her political views and how terribly novel they are; annoying only because she never shuts up about it. I dislike the way she does participation grading because making a frivolous comment every day will get you a better grade than making a meaningful concentration even slightly less frequently.

One of my favorite professors at Geneseo. I couldn't be more different than Maria, or have gotten in more arguments with her, and she certainly didn't hold it against me. I learned a ton about english writing, myself, and the rest of the world going back and forth with her. Her intensity leans towards hyperbole to prove a point; highly recommended
