I really enjoyed the four classes I took with Professor Canaves. Her classes are always well organized and as a student you are always aware of whats expected of you. Her classes can be difficult but fair and she always offers the opportunity for extra credit and anytime I needed help or an explanation she was available.

She's a nice enough lady, but she's extremely disorganized which makes being a student in her class a disaster. You really have to look out for yourself if you want a good grade. The tests are also very difficult and sometimes beyond obscure. However, the quizzes are easy because she takes them directly from the internet and answers are also there.

Dont Take THis CLass!!!!! You will fail The assignement is dreadful, her quizzes and tests veer from absurdly specific to confusingly vague. The tests are also incredibly long. Her powerpoints are terrible. The term paper (on top of 3 tests, weekly quizzes, a midterm, & a final) "strongly urges" an expensive trip to the MFA in Boston. um no

WORST professor. Her attendance policy is VERY strict - even had doctors notes - still dropped a letter grade for only 2 missed classes. the tests are unbelievably difficult. get ready to study your butt off and only get 80's. questions are either way too specific or wicked confusing. she expects too much of her students. STEER CLEAR!

This class was so unpleasant. Canaves literally brought a student to tears--It was really awkward. I'm a really decent artist and took this class because I thought it would be fun. I was wrong, and I cant imagine how challenging it was for people with no art background at all. If you do decide to take this class, be prepared for harsh criticisms.

Wow, for a 101 class this was very intense! A quiz on every chapter, 3 test, a term paper, and a final. I took this during the summer on-line so we had 3 quizzes a week, 3 different discussion a week, a test every other week, a term paper (3-5 pg), and a final. Plus we had to get the myartlab and complete those assignments. Get ready to work!

I found this professor to be very responsive and helpful. I took this course because it fulfilled a Humanities requirement and I was pleasantly surprised by the high amount of enjoyment I experienced. I plan on taking another class with this professor and highly recommend it to other students. Do expect to read and complete all assignments!

Professor Canaves is awesome. I wasn't into History of Art but after taken History of Art 11 with her I signed up for History of Art 1 (backwards but I found II easier than I, not to say it was easy) the following semester. I found the class challenging but I learned a great deal from her. I would highly recommend her online class to anyone

Professor loves the subject. Much too general with expectations of tests. She puts little effort into meaningful tests. Beware: quizzes seem to count for very little and "extra credit" is a waste of your time... Ask what you need to know for the important graded aspects of the course or you'll wastes hours!!!!!

I have found this class to be extremely difficult. with a quiz every week and a test every month,I have found no time to catch my breath.I was told that the research paper that i wrote could be re-written for a higher grade, however my paper was submitted in October and i have still not even been told my grade.Hybrid class, doesn't respond to email

I took her Art History: Stone Age -Gothic course online. Often did not have quizzes up on time, and would take a lot of time to respond to e-mails. However if you can easily teach yourself, the online will be fairly easy-do yourself a favor and save the notes from her online slides, because she will remove them before tests! \

Would teach us material in class after we had already taken quizzes on it. Would not put up the online exams punctually. Changed how much things were worth without notice. Unresponsive when emailed. Easily one of the worst professors I have ever had. I will never take another class with her.

Marie is a strong professor who challenges her students. Her expectations are high, and WILL prepare you for continued study at another institution (if you choose). She's accommodating and will meet with you during office hours for help.

History of Women Artists was an amazing, if very hard class. I learned so much, but my goodness that was the hardest grade I've ever earned! The only thing to watch with her is that she tends to forget to not pile on work a week before finals. Remind her that finals are coming up and she'll usually not make you do such work.

Not a class I would look forward to, quite boring to sit through for 50 minutes. She was late or wouldn't even show for many classes which was very frustrating. What would be on the tests was a guessing game, but if you studied everything they could be reasonably easy.
