DONT TAKE HER CIS110 SUMMER CLASS! Our "weeks" are 3 days long, with 4 projects due every 3 days. It is absurd she thinks that people actually have 24hrs a week to spend on 1 class while managing work and other classes. I asked her for help and she took away points. Too much course work! Hard grader! NOT GOOD FOR MAC!!!

This online course is great BUT it requires YOU to do at lest 15 hours per day working hard to finish all SAM Path, Projects, and extras. Forget about asking the teacher for help. She does not usually answer and she does not have the experience to teach this course. If you succeed, it will be your own effort, not the teacher.

Run if you can or take the class in a different place. She is totally unorganized. She may know about computer but AS A TEACHER SHE DESERVES A "0". Her directions are never clear. If you ask a question, she will give you the wrong answer (and will get upset). Regarding SAM: She always tell students to call them with all the complaints.

Take this class w/ ANY OTHER TEACHER!!! Worst teacher I ever had, gives WAY too much work for an online class, & each project takes lots of time & is worth a lot of points. I don't get stressed easily but this class made me more stressed than ever before. She doesn't meet outside of class to help you. Dont take this class online if you have a MAC!!

Online class, was told by those at Montco it would be easy and it's just learning M word-were they wrong. Tons of homework each and every week, 3+ assignments that take 90+ minutes to do, truly overwhelming. Be ready for quizzes that she won't post anything about, kind of odd considering it's an online class. Not a awful prof just challenging class

Being an online class, we were expected to be a bit more independent. The majority of the work involved step by step projects from the text or the online application. Her actual lecture topics were generally fairly short and made up a low percentage of the work. The one issue I encountered she addressed with me promptly and to the point.

If you know how to use microsoft office this class with her is a breeze, but she is a major pain. She'll ask you to do something and then tell you after the fact that it is going to be a huge part of your grade later down the line. She is also very unclear in her directions; I've had to email her just to clarify a lot of things. Don't recommend.

HARDEST CLASS I EVER TOOK! Straight A student afraid I will fail! Too many high point assignments. Book very basic, programs very very hard! Powerpoints copied from book. Spend 40+ hours a week on this class. Went to tutoring and still going to fail! Gives you programs that you have to search online for how to do. No help. Stay away!

I think Marie is a great teacher. I am learning so much. I agree that there is alot of homework, but this is a computer science class. These are some of the hardest classes you can take in college. They aren't designed to be easy. While she does reference the text alot, but also add her own content. learned alot more than I thought that i could.

She is the worst. She knows what shes talking about but had no idea how to explain it to beginners. I gave up after the first quiz and 50 assignments we got within the first 2 weeks. Unorganized, not helpful, too many assignments at once, needs to get another job related to programming that doesnt involve teaching.

Online class. Lots of reading, even more work, but I learned tons! If you're having a problem with this class it's more likely that you aren't very good at programming than the teacher. She was always pleasant and professional and quick to help. Everythings in the books. If you don't get the books, you don't get programming, pick a new major.

I took this class online and barely got by. Too much work and too little time given to complete. A lesson basically consisted of power points that were nothing more then pages copied out of the textbook. The textbook basically read like a foreign language, it was way too hard for beginners.

Terrible "teacher." Her powerpoint and examples are verbatim right out of the book = no help at all. I can't believe I wasted my money on this class. I could have learned it better myself. Gives you points off for not putting comments ALL OVER your programs. Makes you write pseudocode to waste more of your time doing assignment after assignment.
