Madame Carter is great; the first few classes she can be a bit intimidating, but eventually you understand that she is challenging you and pushing you to do your best to learn French--that's why you take the class, isn't it? Sign me up for the next semester!

Madamn;s class was assaulting, mean-spirited, aggressive, and counter-productive to learning anything. Berating students if they attempted to translate the words they were struggling to say, at session's end one felt beaten up. If you want to learn French, DO NOT take her class, besides CSM has a ridiculous, irresponsible, no-refund policy.

She's most definitely a rather unique character. She's nice, though rather intimidating, but she goes off on tangents a lot. The class seems to have little structure and it's extremely hard work, but I love it, (though that may be just because I love the French language so much).

I knew from the very first couple of classes I needed to RUN AWAY! I had 5 years prior of French, and I really don't know what she was teaching. The material was not connected. Random! We were stuck on the same thing for over two weeks. Very Intimidating teacher unless your her favorite. Ugh.

Very easy if you show up to class consistantly. She is very sweet after you get through the first few classes. All french teachers have a snipety attitude to them but once you get past it youll be fine. I like her better than any of the other teachers at CSM

Often condescending, sometimes just plain rude. Extremely unpredictable. Unhelpful. Didn't seem to teach very much, focused more on having students read things aloud the majority of the class. Not a lot of tests, those given are not too difficult if you study. The few assignments given were too advanced for this level. Wouldn't recommend the class.

A lot to put up with every week, but if you show up to every class and pay attention it's an easy A. DON'T TRY TO SHOW OFF...she doesn't like show offs. One of only a few profs interested in helping students learn. Takes a while to get used to her...
