As this is an online class, attendance was not exactly "mandatory." However, you had to do small "check-ins" every week. They were worth one point each, so not a big deal until you realize that she made them a pretty heavy percentage of your final grade. You also have assignments that do not prepare you for the final honestly. Study your butt off.

Dr. Flowers is very knowledgable and I really learned a lot from coming to class. Attendance isn't required but there wasn't a textbook (just powerpoint notes online) to get the information elsewhere. She really explained things well. Tests are 100% of the grade in the class and they're kind of tough but just pay attention in class!

This course is very difficult, not good at explaining things. It feels more like a history of economics rather than basic principles. I would highly recommend taking it online with a different professor to pass. Class is long, boring, and you walk out learning nothing.

Lectures are very long and boring. Attendance is not necessary. Tests are tough and meant to trick you. An A is 85%, but also very tough

Comment:
Took this class because I am very bad at econ and I was relying on the reading quizzes worth 10 points to help me. However, no reading quizzes anymore. 85% is an A and an excuse from the final - but there's no way in Hell I'll manage that. Her lectures are alright, tests are tough. I'm incredibly lost though, so avoid if Econ is impossible for you.

Tests are difficult but totally passable. An A in her class is a 85% or above and are excused from the cumulative final if you have an A. Daily iclicker quizzes but if you read the textbook and print off power points you should get at least 4/5 points. If you are willing to put in the time, you should take her.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. The only thing that determines your grade is 4 tests throughout the semester. The last 3 are all in the last month of the semester and its impossible. She is very inconsistent when it comes to helping you outside of class and if you do bad on the test or don't understand her way of teaching you're screwed.

You will love this woman. Most interesting person you will ever meet. Showing up for classes is needed because there are 5 point quizzes every class. Read the textbook. You will die laughing every day in this class because she says the most out of the blue sayings. She is a very odd person but you will love her. She tells "jokes." TakeThisClass

Daily 5 question quizzes, if you print out the ppt's prior to class AND pay attention you should get a 4/5. Book is probably not necessary if you attend class and follow along with the ppt slides. If you have an A (85%+) you are excused from the final. Go to class, pay attention, bring the ppts to class and study them and you will get at least a B.

5 question clicker quiz everyday but if you print off the pp slides before you'll get a 5/5. all the questions on the final are old test questions so the final was very easy. also, she is a very nice woman

Professor Flowers is a very nice teacher. You have in class quizzes every day, but she allows you to take notes when you read the chapter and then use them on the quizzes. Her tests were kind of difficult. If by the end of the semester you have a 85%, you don't have to take the final, which rocks! She is kind and helpful!

Class was kind of difficult but still quite passable. Tests were hard and only other grades are in-class quizs (3 questions from assigned reading and 7 throughout class notes). There were times when the over half the class was confused on her subject although...but some still understood.

This class is tough. You must read the assigned pages as there is a 10 question quiz every day. Other than that the only grades are the tests which are tough. If you have an 85% at the end of the semester you are exempt from the final. Few opportunities for extra credit. I really struggled with this class.

Tests are hard. You should read the book everyday, you have quizzes everyday that can save your grade, and then 3 tests, then the final. If you have an A, you don't have to take the final. If you read, it seems pointless to go to class because she lectures the book, but, suffer thru it, if you read and pay attention, you should atleast get a B.

For someone who has a bad habit of skipping classes this class was a wake up call. That said, if you go to class and actually pay attention you will do fine, assuming of course you read the selected material. Not hard if you really want the grade!

She is a nice professor that enjoys what she teaches. There is a 5 question quiz every day over material that you read the day before. If you read the small amount which is about 5-8 pages then you will be fine. Tests are based off definitions in the book and in class quizzes. If you get an A in the class before the final you dont have to take it.

Very passionate about economics but there is a quiz EVERYDAY.....read the book and you will make it through them fine. She uses quiz questions for tests and the tests for the final so as long as you read and pay attention in class, you will be fine....better than other econ profs in the department
