Tough class but you will succeed if you put forth the effort necessary. No matter who teachers biochemistry you cannot expect it to be easy. Her tests are tough but you can do well if you reach out to her for help, attend class, and go to SI for extra help.

Honestly, she is a tough grader. Her tests are not all the same from person to person. There are 4 versions with all different questions. She is not really there to help. If you want to pass go to SI or get a tutor. I am not a nursing student and I had tot take this class for physical therapy.

Mrs. Ion is a one of the few professors I have come across who truly seems to enjoy teaching and cares if her students succeed. She is prompt with email and is always willing to help. If your schedule can't line up with hers, she will direct you as to how to get extra help. Grading is more than fair. Study, the material is tough.

I was afraid to take this class at first having done average in CHM 150151. Mrs. Ion though was very, very nice and was willing to work with me to help me understand the essentials of Biochemistry. She promptly responded to e-mails and was very helpful. I highly recommend her, study hard and you will do great! Tutoring was very helpful too :)

Dr. Ion is kind and wants you to succeed as a student. Not very helpful.. I didn't find her lectures helpful at all; and the homework was so time consuming and unrelated to the exams most of the time. She did curve the final grade boosting everyone, thank God. But it is a difficult class the only way I survived was thanks to tutoring twice a week.

This was awful. She is a nice lady, but if you sit any further back than the front row, you're not gonna understand what is being discussed. Sapling sucks and does not help at all, but do it because all the scores combined are equal to a test score. Overall, the class was hard and not enjoyable, don't take unless you have to.

Mrs. Ion was great. Hands down the best "science" professor I've had so far. She is extremely prompt with emails, has a sense of humor, and really seems to care about teaching her students. Very pleasant and helpful prof. As long as you study hard you'll be good.

Hated her. She acts like it is a pain to help students and the final exam is ridiculous. I got a good grade because I taught myself and went to tutoring. She was a horrible teacher, never taking a class with her again.

Excellent teacher! She actually "teaches" chemistry on a level that you can understand. You come away from the class with having learned about chemistry AND wanting to learn more. We need more teachers like her.

Very good professor. You will have to work for your grade and do the studying before the tests. Second test she did use common names of chemical, so be familiar with them.

Good professor. Gave us a study guide for each test (only time I used the textbook, to be honest). Responded to emails quickly and was always helpful.

Are you wit me hea? :) I love this teacher, yeah, she does have a thick Russian accent that you have to adjust too but you are able to understand everything she says fine. She seems to really care about her students, and does a good job of explaining complex problems. If you are not great at chemistry I highly recommend her.

Mrs. Marina Ionina-Prasov was the best professor that I've ever had. I transferred from U of M, but I often miss her clarity and knowledge of how to explain complex concepts in simple ways. Definetely take her if you get the chance. I never had trouble with her accent as well.
