Comment:
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I am an A student, I do well in my classes but this class is extremely unstructured and the expectations aren't clear. The work is overall not useful. He constantly is changing his standards and will never consider others' opinions. For the amount of work this class requires, it is certainly not worth it.

This class wasn't bad at all if you know what he wants. Class is completely group-driven, and you need a good leader or the group will fail. Class is taught PBL style (problem based learning), so the students basically run the class and design their own projects. For essays and forum posts, be incredibly thorough and cite sources.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS unless you really like group projects busy work and pointless classes do not take the child mental health seminar. It's unstructured you have a ton of assignments that are totally pointless and he is useless. He babbles for the first 2 hours of the class then assigns you a ton of irrelevant reading. i seriously wish i dropped

Love love love Dr. Tommasi!!! If you have the opportunity to take Child and Adolescent Mental Health with him, definitely take it. He really cares about his students and his class is sooo much fun. He is a funny guy and so nice. He has a lot of passion for the material of the course and it shows. My favorite psych prof at UD hands down.

I have him this semester for Child and Adolescent Mental Health. The class is great. He uses a lot of real life examples and assigns projects and papers that are actually relevant and interesting. He is challenging and definitely makes you think but he makes the class atmosphere so comfortable. Dr.Tommasi is my favorite professor I've had at UD.

didn't like this class at all. Entire class is a powerpoint presentation where he randomly flips through slides. Don't really need to go to class but be prepared to study a lot of info for tests. Tests are short for the amount of info that he covers.

Extremely easily persuaded (aka. a Fish), tries to be helpful, READ the book, it is where the tests come from. Only college class to take exams in groups. Extremely interesting experience.

Very very boring lecture. Not very helpful--makes his office hour at 8am, doesn't give you his phone number or email, encourages you to go see the TA instead. Class is pointless--all you do is watch a power point presentation, which is posted online.

Nice teacher; tells funny stories. But the class can be kind of boring sometimes. Exams are long and multiple choice, but not too hard. No cumulative final. Overall, a good class.

I have never felt so talked down to in a college class. I don't think that he's aware that we're not in elementary school. Just read the book.
