I had him for Writing intensive, and it was. But nothing you couldn't handle as long as you kept up semi-ly with the readings. There was only a midterm and a final and they weren't difficult. Take notes even if he does't write on the board.

When he grades assignments, he takes off points for things that weren't specified that needed to be in the answer. Basically, he takes 2 or 3 points off a question because he feels like it. Good luck!

He is the worst professor I ever had. If your views don't match his, YOU WILL NOT PASS. He failed me on a paper saying 'my opinion was invalid'. How can an opinion be invalid? WORST professor on campus.

So far I've noticed that he is a very rude professor to his students that don't have the same views as him, he doesn't quite care if you follow what he's talking about or not and he seems to only really care about his point of view. His class is very dull and the way he speaks is very condescending and monotone.

I went into this class w a bad attitude and came out with an even worse one. He is arrogant, you practically have to beg for help, and he is very condescending regarding questions. PILES of reading & expects it to be done and notes on it as well. This class was the hardest I've ever taken bc I'm not a Christian. never take him!

The prof is ehh. No regular homework assignments. Very tough grader on essays, will kick people out of class, lots of reading (average is 10-20 pages a day of hard biblical reading which is very dull). Boring lectures. If you went to a religious school you will have an upper hand in the course. Two Exams (Midterm and Final). Not very clear.

Very dry. Does not give out quizzes/homework assignments so class is based off of (very hard) tests and (difficult) papers. He is very knowledgable and passionate about the subject, but for someone with little background and knowledge, I was completely lost. Too many reading assignments.

I loved this class. He is a very warm person who knows A LOT about the subject matter. Fair but tough grader. If you're prepared to do the work, you should take this class. One of my favorite professors at Valpo.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. He does very poorly at helping you if you approach him with a question; or maybe he just has no interest in doing so. Either way, he is dull in class, rude to students, and a total snob. He thinks rather highly of him self and his position. Basically he has a misplaced sense of self-importance.

Prof. Bartusch is actually a great professor. He is very clear on what he expects you to learn, and his tests are over exactly what he lectures on in class. I didn't read the books, and I was still able to get a very high A. He is definitely not the easiest professor you will come across, but he is very helpful and genuinely wants you to succeed.

Despite the prior negative reviews, Bartusch is a great teacher who was always willing to help me when I needed it. He expects what I would expect if I were a teacher; it's not that he marks students down for their points of view . . . he just expects you to defend your view thoroughly and back it up with facts, or at least plausible theories.

Horrible class, he likes to listen himself talk. If you ask a question, he will answer with a question. What an Unhelpful teacher. Only 2 tests and 6 papers for the whole semester which he grades very very hard. He is knowledgeable but he thinks only what he says is correct. Dont take the class
