Comment:

His classes are very difficult, but you will learn more in his class than you do in anyone else's if you are willing to put in the effort. He goes over all of the material thoroughly and will always help you if you come to his office with questions.

Comment:

I rate every teacher I have, and this is the only 5 on difficulty I've given. He has a reputation for how hard his classes are. Struggling is no exaggeration. That being said, he's an awesome teacher and there are lots of 100's on his tests, because he absolutely gives us ALL the information he tests on. Very fair teacher, just awfully challenging.

He is one of those teachers who is just a great experience to have. He is by no means easy, but he goes through a great deal of effort to help his students as long as they let him know that they need it. If you pass his class you will also gain a firm understanding of the material the course covers.

Dr. Boshart is far and away the best CS professor that Tennessee Tech has to offer. He is tough, but if you put forth effort and actually attempt to make the most out of your education then Dr. Boshart will do a very good job at ensuring that you will learn and improve your understanding of the topic he is teaching. I will choose him every time.

This is after just receiving my third test grade from him out of the four he gives. Ive taken this class twice now and the second time has been an absolute repeat of the first in terms of grades. I have never passed one of his tests; not even close. I think my best score was a 35. It doesnt matter if I study a week in advance or a day, I fail.

While Dr. Boshart is a tough professor, he is a very fair professor. He gives a total of four tests (including the final) and four programming projects. The project that he gives are genuinely really cool to work on.

Dr. Boshart is profoundly one of the best professors I have ever encountered. His programs and exams are tough (especially if programming isn't your bag) but he is willing to help (even outside of his posted office hours) you with your work and ensure you have a clear understanding of what you're doing. Tough but fair. And loves Death Metal! m/

Without a doubt the best Computer Science teacher at Tech. However, his classes may also be some of the toughest. Taking Boshart will force you to try hard and actually learn the material if you want an A. Attendance wasn't required; however, it's in your best interest to always stay up to date on material. His exams are hard and there aren't many.

Boshart is probably my favorite professor to this point. His class is very intense but doable. If you ever need help, he is extremely willing to help. The programs are difficult and deadlines seem short sometimes, but he is still very helpful. He also wanted a chili pepper so I gave him one haha

Dr. Boshart has probably been the best professor I have had at TTU. He is not the easiest professor to take but he is not unreasonably difficult either. He expects you to study the material and is willing to go out of his way to help you. I recommend taking Dr. Boshart if you want to learn and are not looking for an easy A class.

Dr. Boshart is the best professor I have ever had, hands down. I never once made an A on any of his tests but I wouldn't trade his class for an easier one with a better grade. There is no reason not to make an A on all of his programs, if you don't understand the assignment just go to his office hours.

Data structures is tough, especially with Boshart. He always has morning classes, but FOR THIS CLASS attendance is not mandatory, and he records and uploads lectures! His programs are hard so don't procrastinate. Half my class dropped after the first test. Don't. Work hard and you can still make a B even after making a 40 on test #1.

The class is a very tough class and most people i know took two tries to get through it, however Dr. Boshart is an amazing teacher who tries to make the content of the course a little easier to understand by teaching shortcuts, as far as attendance: he doesn't take it but if you miss a day you miss alot, the tests are very difficult
