Professor Kiley teaches this class as if we're all a bunch of theological scholars. He takes everything so seriously & is very particular with grading. It is definitely the hardest theology class I've taken. The lectures are boring, he is quiet & monotonous, and all the readings are so dry. Would not recommend to anyone under any circumstances ever

Very nice professor. Group work is the worst because most likely every freshman does not care and will leave all work on 3 people out of 10. IF YOU DO YOUR HW THEN STUDY YOUR HW AND YOUR HW IS ON THE TESTS!!! Always do hw and always study! You can't slack off in this class its legit. I would not take again bc he's boring and talks too low

Dr. Kiley is a brilliant and gorgeous, however it is a tough course, tests are difficult but if you need help he is in his office. Expect a B with working for it at best, most students drop his class and run, if you are stuck take him, he is a nice guy and has been at the Staten Island Campus for twenty years or more.

He's a nice guy and clearly knows the subject--he just doesn't know how to teach it. He goes off on tangents and it's hard to connect what he says. His lectures don't really reflect what's on the tests. But Kiley isn't really that harsh on grades. I didn't really try my best and I got an A. He said he always changes his curriculum, be aware.

Pay attention and study! He's not as bad as everyone says he is. He's extremely smart and will never say that you're wrong in class so don't be scared to participate. The group projects and discussions can be a little annoying since you have to depend on other people for a good grade but as long as you study and care you'll at least get a B

I only took one class of this course before I decided to run down to the dean's office to drop the class. i didn't spend much time with him- but on the first day as soon as i walked in- he wasn't very life-like and was monotone, all he did was read from the textbook and never raised his head. i told myself this is going to be a long semester...

Prof. Kiley is very knowledgeable on the subject matter, however, the way he presents the course (which is an introductory core class btw) makes it very difficult to follow a very complex subject. The test are extremely hard, and those 3 tests determine 75% of your grade for the term. Very nice guy, but I would not take his course again. Ever.

Be warned, his class is very difficult. The homework is pretty easy, but the tests are unbelievably hard. Be ready to study really hard if you take him. Honestly, I have no idea how I got the grade I did. He is a nice guy and he's willing to work with you, but I honestly think he makes an introductory course way harder than it has to be.

I took Kiley for Theo 1000C, problem is this is an introduction class, you are not required to have any knowledge of Christianity to take it. Yet he treats it as its an advanced class and that he is speaking to people who are quite familiar with the New Testament. In addition his HW consists of creating bibliographies for biblical research.

this class is great if you are interested in majoring in theology. Other than that AVOID AT ALL COSTS, especially if you are a freshman. The class should be a very simple intro class, however he makes it much harder than it has to be. Tests are short answers and essays, not easy at all.

I would have done myself a favor by switching to another prof. After every class, every one of my classmates & I would leave & just discuss how confused we were. He is a nice guy & is willing to work w/ you, but he made the class more difficult than it should have been. I never knew where I stood in the class & expected to fail but somehow got a B.

I would recommend enrolling in Dr. KileyĆ¢€™s course if you have a desire to challenge yourself and learn a great deal of knowledge in the process. I am disgusted that such a kind and intelligent man is being lambasted for refusing to make his class a mockery like some other professors at the Staten Island campus do.
