I really liked this guy. He is great and made me love chemistry after torture with other chemistry teachers. I had little chemistry background from high school which helped but he offers lots of chances to get extra credit. You can watch movies for extra credit or read a book. This class helps u in ur practical life a lot not just only memorizing.

Absolutely the worst class I have ever had! I absolutely hated this class. The teacher sucks! He expects you to know everything about chemistry before the class starts. He won't give you any kind of practice exam or anything. He makes the exams so hard that you can't get an A. 24 out of 40 students had a d or e in my class. Don't take him!!!!

The class is very difficult for a non chemistry person. Dr. M. is a wonderful teacher, willingly to stop the class and answer any question. The course is set up poorly with lots of wasted running around, but it was set up by someone else, not the doc. Also, he is REALLY pleasant to look at.

chemistry is really hard but this is by far your best choice of a teacher to take it with. he is very helpful and nice. the other teachers for this class are horrible - (mcreary is decent if you can't get masthay)

Professor Masthay is a VERY nice guy and a really good teacher. If you don't understand something, he'll explain it in any way he can until you get it. His tests aren't too difficult--You just have to study . . . At least a little bit.

Worst teacher ever, never can catch him in office hours, test entirely too hard and long, doesnt care how poorly students do, believe that a 50% average on tests is perfectly fine, hard to finish a test in the time given, stay away, dont take, poor clarity, poor examples, poor lecture

He is an awesome teacher & I would recommend him to anyone!! He uses blackboard efficiently which really helps. You have to study for tests, but he has study sessions on his own time (extremely helpful),plus if you need help you can go by his office at anytime & he's more than willing to help!!
