Comment:

Not the right person to be teaching Freshmen anything. Political viewpoint showed through in class, which was unappreciated and made my attitude toward completing classwork even worse. It was an all-around bad experience having him as a professor. If you can take the class from someone else, do it.

Although he can be intimidating at first, MZM is one of the most sincere, passionate, and kindhearted people I've ever met. He is one of the toughest graders at Luther, but if you are in college because you want to expand your intellectual horizons and NOT because you want an easy A, taking a class with him is a very rewarding experience.

Not an easy grader, for sure, but you'll learn quite a bit. My writing really improved after I took Paideia with him. Again, a hard grader and you need to be on the ball every day to get an A in his classes.

What an amazing professor. He seemed odd at first, but I had a class with only seven people in it, and BOY did he know his stuff! He had our class over to dinner a couple of times and we would do our class discussion there. Friendly, smart, and passionate about what he teaches.

Pretty hard grader, but not impossible to get an A. Lots of class discussion and not much lecturing, so I feel like I didn't learn all that much from my Shakespeare class. We also had ridiculous tests, where we had to draw a map of Europe and label places on it....not sure how that really had much to do with Shakespeare.

Muggli is hard, but the amount of knowledge and skill you gain from his classes is phenomenal. Well worth the time spent laboring over assignments and papers. Very very very intelligent. I recommend him to anyone who's up for a challenge.

Hard!! He is a very hard teacher but does help you a lot. He is probably one of the hardest grading teachers here, and assigns a ton of homework but in the long run it will help you I guess!! So they say!

Although professor Muggli is demanding and a tough grader, he is very willing to help if you approach him outside of class. Many people don't realize it, but he is a worrier and very earnest, so when he gets upset it's because he feels like he has failed. So really, just talk to the man if you're having a hard time and things will get better!

He certainly made me a better writter, but I am not sure that it was worth the harassment. He assigns way more work than any other Paideia prof. He is unfair a lot of the time and makes your first year very hard. I switched profs 2nd semester and enjoyed paideia a lot more.

Mark Muggli is an OUTSTANDING educator. I had a hard time in Paideia and struggled to meet his writing standards. He is a very demanding instructor! Did I get an A? No...but I felt like I had accomplished something with a B+!
