My main grievances with this professor for CS2910 were poor course schedule, unrealistic expectations, and poor attitude toward students. Course schedule was always changing. Expectations were arbitrary: his pedagogy is that students start with an AB/B and have to "wow" him to earn an A. Students were greeted with ambiguity and condescension.

One of the worst professors I have had. When a test has an average of 67% (failing) you know the professor is doing something wrong. If he can be avoided for CS2910, do not take him. In class time was not spend teaching at all, he expected the book and his terrible videos to teach us everything.

OUTSTANDING professor, goes way above and beyond to make sure you understand the material. Has been in the industry forever and has plenty of stories to reenforce this. I meet with him every week and he provides strategies for becoming a more successful student here at MSOE. Bad students need to quit blaming the professor for their performance.

Sebern knows his stuff. SE280 is a hard class to judge a teacher by but he was very fair in grading all my assignments and I learned a lot. Notes and points out little mistakes but doesn't take off big points for them like some teachers at MSOE. Very fair guy if you give him a chance.

He Expected the book to teach you Java. The test where way to hard. He has the knowledge of Java but he can not teach it in lecture very well.

Great professor - really nice - but the class was way too difficult for entry level java programming. The labs were too difficult - the tests were very difficult. However, he is really helpful and willing to take time out to answer questions - so that helps a little (if you know what to ask :))

Really knows his stuff. Very knowledge-able. Relaxed on lab right-ups. Tests are kinda hard but open notes, book, and laptop! Very approchable. A formal person (suit and tie everyday). Stays on track.

relies heavily on the book. expects students questions to lead where the class goes. exams are inconsistent and very tough. maybe he's could for non-assembly language courses, but wouldn't recommend him for cs280.
