Mark is amazing!!! I took a 3 hour religion class with him and he really made it go fast and made it fun. He loves his little quizzes, but they are not bad if you read the readings. 100% love mark and say you will probably as well.

I had Tranvik for REL 100. He was an awesome professor. But when it comes to essay questions, you need to be more specific. If you do your readings, its easy. I totally recommend him. We did many discussions in class and he keeps everyone engaged.

He is honestly one of the best professors that I've had so far. He is really nice and funny and makes the class go smoothly. Although there is a lot of reading, it helps with what he is trying to teach. He is also very respectful in others prospective (Because its religion) and doesn't grade based on only his views on the course.

This Professor is clearly in the correct field of work. His lectures are awesome but you also don't need to do all the readings to pass the class with a good grade. Class was upbeat and the topics covered were very relevant and interesting. Overall, an amazing professor

Professor Tranvik is by far the best professor I have had at Augsburg. He is incredibly thorough and kind, and truly has a passion for what he teaches. He is well organized, has a clear expectation for class assignments, and does a great job at making the course material easy to understand. An amazing person and professor.

I really enjoyed taking Mark's class. He is so well-read and intelligent. I could tell he was passionate about his job and about all of us succeeding. I actually thought about asking him to be my advisor or majoring in religion after his course. I gives great feedback, and there are SO MANY EXTRA CREDIT OPS!!

Very available outside class. Multiple shorter textbooks but you never read the whole thing, just a lot of it. Fosters critical thinking in an accessible way - for example, encourages students to refute and argue with him and the material. Multiple short papers on reading and one or two long ones.

Mark cares about each of his students and is easily the best prof at Augsburg. Assignments typically include several quizzes on readings (at the start of each class), a 10-25 page paper (depending on the class) he makes you space out over the course of the semester, and for some classes a mid-term and a final. Very fair. Very clear. Great prof.

I hadn't really expected much from this class, but I was really surprised at how much I got out of it. He is an amazing prof, and I have to say probably the best professor I have ever had! He's definitely willing to sit down and talk to you, and help you out anyway you need it. he made the class a lot of fun, take this class if you can!!
