Comment:

I knew little about machinery and agriculture industry when I entered this class. Dr. Zidon is very understanding about this. He was very helpful. I recommend utilizing the lessons on D2L and simply putting in the work. I walked out of this class with a 95 because I attended every class and looked at online PowerPoints and review guides.

Comment:

Zidon is a great teacher and is very nice, but sometimes his lectures are difficult to follow. If you don't know much about machinery, the class is a bit difficult. Definitely go to class in that case. The final is all questions from pervious exams, but you don't get to keep the old exams, so its important you pay attention to what you got wrong.

He was very confusing initially and it's difficult to take notes -- he flies through lectures. If you can record them, I would. I'm not sure that I remember anything from the class a week after finals. As the semester wore on, it was easier to understand him, but if you don't know anything about ESPS, I'd do all the work you can to do well.

Comment:

Being an upper education class you would think that everyone would respect each others opinions. Not so much in this class. He talks about the philosophy of education the majority of the semester. This class is a discussion and not much else. It was really difficult for me to attend class on a regular basis.

Spring '14: Took ESPS with him, it was an 8 AM class that I struggled to make it to, but the labs were very informative, and where we took all of our quizzes and unit tests. Didn't understand the math-related things, he helped me through them. Most important things for learning are his PPTs and paying attention.

Professor zidon is an excellent professor. He explains everything thoroughly and makes sure everyone understands what is going on. He makes the subject fun and keeps you entertained in lecture. You don't ever have to worry about being bored in class. Definitely an excellent teacher to take.

Good teacher, doesn't always go into detail about certain things. Sometimes assumes you know something although he never explained it. Little to no homework, easy labs- usually get done early. Very easy class if you have previous background in engines, electricity, and construction.

Comment:

Learn a lot of things that any farmer should know about building, engines, and electricity. Pretty fun classes. Labs usually end early. Most of grades from in class lab and tests. Not super had concepts but good stuff to know.
