Marlene is one of the best professors I have ever had. She's great for an 8 am class because she is lively and helps you wake up. She is very knowledgeable and cares deeply about history and politics. Very strong willed and will tell anyone her views about things which I admire. Her organization is a great opportunity to get involved with too.

Great teacher. Knows her history but uses this platform to push her political views and to get students involved in her organization. Offers lots of extra credit assignments. Very flexible with handing in work. maybe too flexible.

I loved this class! She definitely knows her stuff. Lectures are great and she wants you to engage in them. A little heavy on reading but nothing too crazy. Homework every week. Midterm and final are fairly easy if you study. Overall great class and great professor, would definitely recommend.

Very passionate about history. The textbooks will be your "bible." Read the text in order to succeed in this class. This is a teacher that makes you work for your grade. She is extremely opinionated which can be a good thing, but she takes it a step too far where she fights with the students who try to voice their own opinions. I do recommend taking this class because you will learn a lot.

Professor Pollock is very passionate about history. The texts were very helpful and unlike other classes, the books will be your "bible." If you don't read the texts, you won't succeed in this class. She is extremely opinionated which can be good to an extent, but she takes it too far. She fights with students who attempt to voice their own opinion. Overall she is a good teacher though, and you will learn a lot. If is one of those teachers that really makes you earn your grade.

Ms. Pollock is one of the best teachers that i had so far. Yes, she gives alot of work, but she makes it easy to understand. Also, she is willing to help you with any problems that you come across. She always has alot of ex credit for everyone. I am taking her again for HST 112 starting this Jan.

Loved her class. She is very nice and will make you enjoy history even if you don't want to. Relates situations in the present with those of the past and helps you gain a better understanding. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. I would definitely take another class with her.

This was one of my favorite classes, even though I hated history. SHe is more than fair, gives you plenty of chances for extra credit and even lets you have a note card for exams. But the homework load was heavy.

One of the best, or the best teacher, I've ever had. She knows her stuff & wants everyone to succeed in her class. Gives extra credit &extensions on work. Incredibly nice lady. To the person who said she doesn't like you if you don't volunteer for her causes. I never once volunteered & I got an A+ in her class. I will say she gives a lot of H.W.

Prof. Pollock definitely gives a very interesting class, you cannot help but want to learn more. She has travelled a lot and she brings that to the table. Be prepared to do lots of reading and homework. You will definitely learn a lot in this class. She is ALWAYS WILLING to help a student. Absolutely loved this class !

She does know her stuff and as a person she's great. Very smart on issues going on and the truth.The only thing is the homework loads are ridiculous,if this is your only class it's ok but if you work and take other classes her class will absorb A LOT of time. IF you fall behind your pretty screwed. But fair on tests and lets you know what's up.

she's a really helpful and understnading teacher. she knows her stuff! she IS NOt going to fail you if you don't join "her org." i got a decent grade in both classes i took with her...just by doing the work. i would certainly take another class with her. She's passionate and she knows her stuff!
