It may be hard to adjust to the class at first, but Professor Lazreg's class becomes very enjoyable once you become accustomed to it! Make sure you take notes from the board, as well as jot down side notes because she breaks things down! It can be a difficult class if you let it, but hard work definitely pays off! Comment:

It takes a little time to warm up to Professor Lazreg's humor and personality, but after spending the semester with her, she was a good professor. The class grade is based on four exams (TAKE GOOD CLASS NOTES!) participation and a paper(sentation) she assigns. She's very intelligent and dedicated to her courses. She is good!

Content heavy, a lot of assigned readings and usually not the short ones, so prepare in advance, catching up just before class is not going to work, and it will be impossible to sit the discussion out. However, content is great and informative, lectures aren't just repeat of readings, but adding to them and professor really cares and understands

Professor Lazreg is the kind of teacher that makes you want to learn and understand sociology in a deeper way. She is tough, but it's because she knows that the class subjects are difficult and there's no time to fool around. I learned so much in her class.

One of the best professors I've had at Hunter. Not only is she brilliant, but she's so funny (her jokes could be harsh but you have to just laugh!) Pay attention, do your readings, and GO TO CLASS! She explains things in such a relatable way!! So happy I took this class with Prof. Lazreg!

If you show up, pay attention to her lectures, and take down the notes, you are golden. She listens and explains everything. Sure, she can be short, but most brilliant people are. She is compassionate when you have personal issues. There are 4 multiple choice tests and one presentation. That's it. She is a true academic and brilliant.

She is not friendly or helpful. It's hard to get her to help you or see things in your point of view. Honestly, I don't think the work load is toooo bad, but the fact that she doesn't leave you any way to communicate with her out of class and dislike talking after class is just unfair.She is hopefully the worse the teacher i'll have to get

I thought she was an amazing teacher, probably one of the best I've ever had in the social studies realm. Yes, she was blunt with the material, but it's not her fault many people just don't get it. She's truly radical and she hit the nail on the head on many topics with relation to the subject. It's not her fault some ppl can't handle the TRUTH!!

Quite difficult course: a few major papers, and blue book exams. Make sure you do those at the top of your knowledge and abilities. As in any other 300-level course you would be expected to have put a lot of time to study and research, however, you learn a great deal, after all. To say that this class is totally useless is an utter mistake.

Classical Social Theory is a very difficult class, especially if you take it with prof. Lazreg. You can't afford to to skip a single lecture because, in such case, you risk to fall behind and lose crucial piece of information. Be very attentive in class and make sure you can write well too. She is the most frustrating professor i have ever had! She doesn't give a phone number or email so it is difficult to reach her. Her assignments seem to be very straight forward but even if you copy down everything she says she will never grade you fairly unless you suck up to her.
