I took English online with this professor. He wants the assignments on time or he will mark you absent for the whole day. For some, since the course is online, it would seem like the solution is simple. Just submit assignments early, well that doesn't work, not really, because he picks away at your work for trivial things. BE MORBIDLY SERIOUS.

Do not take this class. Took it online and gave way too much work. Does not grade fairly and takes of way too many points for a mistake. Has a group project that is hard to complete since it is an online class and not graded individually. Takes himself and this class way too seriously.

Prof is very demanding. Also, a tough grader and does not help to correst mistakes unless an office meeting is set up. Took class online. He does communicate well and answers emails immediately. Lots of work. Group project--this is an online course. Class is useful for life and new ways of communicating in office atmosphere.

Dr. Chesin is not a bad professor but requires a lot of work and a lot of attention for this class. I am taking it online and as soon as I send him an e-mail I get one right back, he is great about keeping up with questions and concerns, however, like I said, a lot of work involved.

Attendance is mandated in is class. He will mark you absent even if you are its not your fault. His course work is very overwhelming. He puts people in a group, which is not good and he gives a long report which is about 15 pages long. He's not easy, but you will learn a lot in his class. There is a lot of pressure in his class.

I took this class online. Once you get into a rhythm, it will go smoothly. Chesin expects a lot, but he is clear and helpful. Puts the online students into groups-- which was fine except that we had to do a paper together as a group and it brought down my grade a bit (never trust anyone). Expect lots of writing, it is a writing course, afterall!

He is very precise and does mean what he says. He gives homework(not difficult), but he is a fair grader. I was afraid of taking his class after hearing things, but I didn't have a problem with him. He is very smoothe going, just don't email him with any spelling errors he will send it back. NO LATE WORK.You should be ok if you do his work.

I loved this class. If you are willing to learn and are able to follow instructions you will have no problems with this class. Prof. Chesin was gracious and more than willing to help steer me in the right direction. I received and A in his class. If you complete all of his assignments on time and show EFFORT you will also get an A in this class.

Don't take this class if you are afraid of work and can't follow directions. The only way to learn to write is to do it and Dr. Chesin gives you plenty of practice. Make sure you get your assignments in on time, follow his directions to the letter and proofread, proofread, proofread. There is a group presentation, but otherwise a great class.

I took Chesin's online section of this course. Overall, it wasn't bad. He expects absolute perfection; if you are a strong writer, it won't be a problem! You can expect to learn a lot of useful professional writing techniques. Chesin is strict about deadlines--get those papers in by 10am! Clear syllabus, actually follows it. Grades your work fast!
