Granier was funny and fatherly. His lectures were redundant and a little boring, but the class is overall laid back. Exams were about as expected. I learned a lot from this class.

Good Professor. Class is not very challenging. Reading is not necessary, but is a nice supplement. The projects are interesting, but would benefit from being more challenging. Overall good professor!

One of the best Computer Science professors at Western. Teaches you all the practical things you need to know about a subject and then has you apply them in an assignment. If you get an opportunity to take one of his classes do so. Grades very fairly, gives you very fast feedback, all in all a great Professor.

Martin is great, he is funny , good personality, and a great teacher. He has a French accent which can be hard to understand sometimes. Gives easy pop quizzes. Labs are hard if you don't read. Sometimes repetitive but makes lectures interesting. He got best CS teacher of the year so take him!

HTML part of the class is not challenging, the Javascript part is harder. But overall, not a bad class at all. The labs are not that bad especially because the TA is very helpful. Professor Granier is very funny. I like him a lot. You can also probably get help from other students in your class. Overall, great experience. much easier than PHP

Great Professor! He is very helpful. Class is spent looking at a lot of examples, which helps when you go to do the labs on your own. Class itself is not too hard, especially if you have done coding before. Read the book and tests will not be difficult.

Granier is a pretty good instructor. His lectures are usually fairly boring, but many times he goes over how to do an assignment in class. If you skim his slides and book, you'll do fine on his tests. He curved all of the tests by a lot.

I had Dr Granier for CS202 last quarter. The class was amazing. I probably went half the time mostly because I have serious ADD issues but I regretted every time I did not go. Dr Granier has a great understanding of the material and makes hilarious jokes in French, if you understand that. I did not read the book, but ymmv. He was excellent at answering questions, even if mine were somewhat tangential.

If you took CS102 with Ed Hunter you'll really have no idea what you are getting into with this class. The CS102 class doesn't relatively prepare you for this class at all! I found this out the hard way. If you fall behind in the labs your on your own! Also there is a project, two midterms, and a final. Tests are easy. Performance is hard. be safe!

Know that 102 is not adequate preparation for this class! Seriously... I was very interested in this topic prior to this class however, this class was challenging despite attending all lectures and keeping up with readings. Also, know that Granier is NOT a helpful source outside of class. If you are struggling you will most likely be on your own.

YOU have to read the book!!! his lectures are based on power points and don't contain enough information to do well on the tests. believe me I found out the hard way! use the power points like you would a study guide and you should be fine. He has a good sense of humor and is willing to help.class is not easy but it is definitely useful...

His accent was difficult to understand at first, but if you go to class as often as you should, you'll catch on before long. Although he did a lot of skipping around in his mainly powerpoint-based lectures, he still paused many a time to give a good explanation of what he was talking about. His subtle humor added quite a bit to the class.

Cannot understand at all. Talks about really weird things and the whole class is pretty much vocab based. Its a better option than taking a Comm class for a GUR, but take it from someone else

I'm so surprised reading the previous ratings. I think Prof Granier is the best prof I've had at WWU. Sure, he has an accent and speaks FAST, so you'd better prepare for class and sit on the edge of your seat! The pearls of wisdom he imparts in lecture are priceless. If you want to really LEARN STUFF, he's the best! If you want easy, NOT HERE!

Professor Granier is VERY hard to understand, he has a thick accent. He never completes his powerpoints in class, and the tests will have concepts we never went thru in class, so it is wise to go through the book. It is not a easy A GUR if you take it w/ him. The 1st few labs are easy, the rest are confusing. And his TAs are not helpful.

He is extremely hard to understand with his accent! He always jumps around and doesn't finish material during lectures and his test cover areas not in his lectures. Very boring don't take unless interested in computers and take from a different prof

Do not take this class! He gives very unreasonable and time consuming work. Seriously you don't want to be in this class! You'll be lucky to pull a A- of a B.
