Comment:

Martin Menke is the most phenomenal professor that I have ever had the pleasure of learning from. I still return to information learned in his courses for everyday references. He is a wonderful individual who cares about student learning and success in and outside of the classroom. I do not have enough nice things to say about this exceptional man.

I'm taking my second semester with Menke right now. He's a really tough grader and he will expect you to've read through the material before class. He doesn't assign much work, which makes it difficult to catch up if you fall behind. He will not go easy on you. He will push you. He is, however, invested in his students and he wants to see success.

Comment:

Menke is a tough grader, and he makes up for it by giving funny, informative lectures. He is very clear about what he wants out of your papers, so if you want to do well you will need to READ the syllabus. Lots of reading in all of his classes, as well as long papers. I took two classes with him, and both were great.

Great professor, very intelligent. Requires a lot of reading to survive. He lectures during most of the class session, but he does a good job making it interesting and getting the whole class involved. It's a lot of work but you will actually learn something. He will turn you in to somewhat of a history buff. Typically 5-6 page essays,

Without a doubt, one of my favorite professors. His classes are to say the least challenging and at times overwhelming. But his classes are a place where you learn to learn better. His depth of knowledge is amazing, and something I aspire to attain. I really can't say enough good things about him. I loved attending his classes.

I have taken many classes with him and he is really one of the best professor Rivier has. Just do the work and know your stuff and you will be fine. The big secret to getting a good grade with him is know how to write a decent paper and do the readings.

This man honestly thought he was at Harvard. He was so inebriated on his ego and his knowledge of history. When I had to rewrite an essay, some of the paragraphs he would write good point, I literally cut and pasted his "good points" on to my rewritten version and his comments changed to "out of the scope of the assignment." All set with him.

smartes teacher I have ever had, most helpful, and most caring. Somehow he just knew i had a lot on my plate and would talk to me about it. He is a great prof. Menke is GREAT! He is wicked smart, but not in the stuck up in your face way. He just sits in the front of the class and talks to us and has a conversation about history. Its wicked cool. Never had a class like it. Wish I could take it again!
