Comment:

Terrible lectures. One day is 6-billion words on every slide. Next day 30 min of youtube videos. He gave a test in an impossible format and then got mad when we asked about it. He did change the format for the following exams, but he just seems to be very high strung and enjoys intimidating students. He loves fluids, but I would not take his class.

Comment:

Definitely one of the best professors in the department. He is occasionally vague on expectations because industry is often similar. He expects students to think for themselves and talks a tough game in lecture but is very personable & helpful during office hours. Exams are fair but can be tough to complete in the allotted time. Curves tests.

I thought his class was pretty easy. If you go to class he will tell you "this will be on the exam" and it usually is. Homework was dumb. He would assign it and not tell you when it was due, but collect it the next day or next week. Also, it was a Mon./Wed. class and sometimes he would cancel Monday's class and expect you to come on Friday at 8 AM

Gets angry when asked to clarify example problems. Gives a partial example problem then gives the remaining half as homework due the next day. "Lectures" on topics then has exams on them the next day. Mentions a topic in passing then has exam problems on those topics. Gives equations, doesn't explain how they work, then has exam questions on them.

EXTREMELY UNHELPFUL he is supposed to be teaching upper level classes but was stuck for a freshman class..... had no interest whatsoever in us learning anything. very uptight... he got laid off from an aviation company like 20 years ago and still talks about em every day. doesn't like his job teaching freshmen.

His teaching style is really weird. Plus, he never gave us back any of our assignments until the last week of class. I had been doing the same thing wrong the entire time (but I didn't know since I never got anything back), but he took points off each time. May be a smart guy, but a terrible teacher. Never seemed like he wanted to be there.

He is a very smart professor. Once you get to know him, he seems like a much better/nicer person. He is very funny at times. The class is VERY tough, but the experiments and things we do are really fun. Overall, he is a good professor.

A difficult class, but just do the work he wants done and you can get an A or B. He is a very good teacher and can answer the questions you have. You might need to look over his arrogance a few times, but if you put forth any effort at all you will learn.

He is the worst teacher I've had so far. I think he's getting worse because previous classes said he's a good teacher, but he's not. You can tell by all the blank stares in class. He's not fair at all and just an all around jerk. I would rather cut off my **** than take his class again.
