We had homework every week but he always at least provided the answers to half of the homework problems so it was easy points. I found it extremely helpful that he posted his lectures online and posted example problems online as well. He slurs/drags on his words sometimes and some may find that annoying when listening to him lecture.

Easy class, but he treats it like a high school class (takes attendance, walks around and checks that you're doing the board problems). TF on final from the textbook. Easy exams if you pay attention and do homework.

He had a thick accent so he was hard to understand at times. His hw and lecture examples were very helpful for the exams. He's a pretty generous grader and offers at least 4% extra credit. The class can be confusing at first, but as long as you try to understand each concept for the exams/quizzes, you should be fine. Go to class so that you get EC!

Has a hard to understand accent and turns back to class a lot so hard to hear. Skips some slides during lectures so some things can get really confusing but ready to help if you ask for it. Kind of intimidating.

The grading scale is very fair (if you put in the work on the Hardware Labs, Simulation Labs, and Final Project) and most people had guaranteed B's or C's before they went into to take the final. The quizzes always only test the basic concepts. The the first midterm is significantly easier than the final so make sure your effort goes to first exam.

He made an otherwise boring class pretty enjoyable. Decent teacher, always helped when I needed it and gives 4.5% extra credit just for showing up. Make sure you stay on top of the labs and you will do fine.

Professor Reisslan had a german accent, but you'll get used to it, and he's very nice. Hardware and Software labs can be challenging, but they are essential to passing the class. There's only a midterm and a final, and 2 quizzes throughout the semester. The final project at the end was challenging so start early! Put in effort and you'll get an A!

With his accent, he was hard to understand at times. However, the grading is set up in such a way that you can get an A despite how intimidating the class may seem at first. I came in with zero knowledge of anything related to digital design and through completion of all the labs, I feel like I have learned a lot.

Attendance is required, with assigned seating. Tests are very similar to previous years. He is a good guy, cares a lot, but the class is extremely boring.

Best CSE 120 professor for sure. CSE 120 is primarily a work-based class, if you have time to do the labs and homework, you will get an A. Reisslein teaches the class well but just attending class will in no way make you pass. You can bomb both tests and both quizzes but get A's on all labs and HW and get an A in the class.

He's the best of the 120 teachers. Definitely moves fast and can get confusing at times. Do the homework and the labs and make sure to read the lab manual and you will come out just fine in this class. I started this class as a Computer Science major but enjoyed it so much that I switched to Computer Systems Engineering for more digital logic fun.

Reisslein is a decent professor. His accent can be slightly distracting. The lectures are a bit fast-paced; he introduces new subjects rapidly. I often found myself confused in class, but the labs/homework helped my understanding greatly. Both exams were fairly easy, and he gives lots of extra credit. You'll get an A as long as you do all the work.

Dr. Reisslein is a good professor, probably the easiest of all of the 120 professors. He knows what he is talking about but teaches at a very fast pace with a strong German accent. Don't be afraid to ask questions and don't be intimidated by the obnoxious lab TA's who live and breathe hardware.

I was thoroughly impressed with him. When I first heard we would be put into teams, my heart sank. However, that team proved to be very helpful. There is a lot of active learning in this class. The power points are a useful back drop, but the real learning happens during group discussion. Try to participate.

Great Professor. Clearly explains difficult concepts. Presents and solves relevant practice problems. And ties concepts to real world scenarios. Would take him for all my classes if I could.

Hard class but Martin makes it fun. He's easy going, funny a little goofy and there is a lot of interactions with teams, the TA and the professor.

Run, run as fast as you can from this professor. You will find yourself struggling through the class. The only positive aspect of this class is that his grading goes from 0 to 100, and its easy to figure out what you need to do to get the grade you want, but that being said, he cant teach at all. Good luck if your stuck with him.
