Very engaging, comedic lectures. He made us do lots of activities which were a little bit unnecessary but fun and educational regardless. We had some difficulties with our case project and he was very understanding and fair about it. Loved his energy.

COMM 292 is a pretty useless class, but as far as the profs go, it's easiest to do well with Martin. Exam is multiple choice, case project is marked easily, no midterm. You just have to attend class, take good notes, and read the textbook religiously. Martin's also pretty hilarious, whether he means to be or its unintentional

Nice, approachable prof. Compared to 2nd term OB classes, there is only one big case project, which in the end is not very hard to do well on. The final is completely MC which makes it somewhat easier than the written case exams for other sections. Quizzes are fairly predictable for when they'll be given. Just stay on top of readings. (No midterm)

Lectures are very unorganized and irrelevant to exams. Pop quizzes were incredibly ambiguous and difficult; class average was 30% on each quiz. He openly admits that some questions have two correct answers, but you must choose the "most" correct answer. Extremely boring lectures.

Martin is a super nice guy and there for you if you need help - but his lectures are SO boring and you are forced to attend because he gives pop quizzes. His final is all multiple choice and is based off of how well you can memorize the textbook... would not recommend taking his class.

Loved Martin as my OB prof! Keeps class engage with in-class activities and his 'funny' jokes. Overall, really nice prof who cares about his students and great enthusiasm. Really takes students' suggestions into consideration. Take OB with Martin :)

Great prof, one of the best I've had at UBC. I got a poor grade because I didn't have the textbook, which is important for exams. I would change the way the group project works in some ways, but it's interesting to see how people will follow a dominate leader, even if they are not a good leader! Whatever, good class, thanks martin!
