Comment:

Dr. Mangum is a really nice guy, classes are rather easy for the most part. Activities in this class were very original and interesting, groups of students create a political candidate and uses the campaign in many different ways. Participation is a large part of the grade.

this class was a fluke. the other instructor had no experience and left Mangum to be the bad guy. READ the syllabus- he followed it strictly- Burden did not!! Students in this class acted like he was supposed to submit to them but he's the one teaching the class. students are really disrespectful to him. BUThe's a good person and a good teacher!

He was a pretty easy teacher but attendance and participation are required. If no one is offering conversation in class, he won't grade due to everyone not talking, he will still grade as to if you talked or not. SO TALK. I had A's on everything but participation and it brought me down to a B. Participation is worth ALOT

Dr. Mangum had us regurgiate text book answers to him for two weeks ( in which he did not make the students aware of how he was going to grade us) then we were assigned a 25 page research paper in which we had to do article presentations which he was unclear about. He referenced his own work many times. unprepared.25 pg + 5 weeks=impossible.

people who try to pull the race card and say that Mangum gives better grades to black students are IDIOTS.how ironic white students dont complain when black students struggle with white professors but they want to cry like babies because a AA prof didnt give them a cake walk!HIPOCRITES! He used to be a very easy teacher. However this past semester he got in trouble for making his classes too easy. Thus if you plan on taking one of his classes be prepared for a harder class. You must talk all you can in his classes for your participation grade. Fyi professional wrestling is a good subject with him.

Dr. Mangum's class is pretty easy. He gives a study guide for all of the tests, and the questions are exactly the same on the exam. You HAVE TO participate to do well, but even if you mess that up he offers a lot of extra credit.

40% of the class grade was determined by entirely subjective criteria. In my opinion, he was just making up grades for participation. I was there and participating every single day, and I only had a C for participation. If I didn't do so much extra credit, I would not have gotten an A.

If you can take any of his classes, especially 346, in the summer, do it. No work at all, easy A. 445 is pretty easy, minus the paper. Not a very good grader on papers, but tests were not very hard.

Had no input, no feedback. Pretty much no help at all. He would sit in the back of class either chewing his nails or falling asleep while groups presented to the class EVERY CLASS PERIOD. He should stick to political science, if he even knows what he's talking about there.

Mangum was a good teacher. all you had to do was aon online quiz each week, and copy the notes and you were set. the final paper however is basically blind, he tried to explain it several times, but it still was unclear to most of the class. he is willing to help with most anything. i enjoyed the class for hating politics.

I was excited going into this class because of the topic but discovered early on he was not the right teacher for the class. He is extremely biased. to put it bluntly if you were African-American you had a good chance of succeeding than if you were Caucasian. I was extremely disappointed that the university would continue to allow him to teach.

This professor often explained different assignments in class compared to what was written in the syllabus/anywhere else. He did not bring in any infomration ouside of the textbook & did not grade anything except the final paper. I had an A going into that paper (he gave me an F) stating that I did not complete the paper correctly. Class Grade B.

This class just didn't seem to be his niche. The weekly quizzes not equate teaching. To base a large portion of someone's grade on participation when you yourself let the students **** at eachother and then call that teaching is hypocrital bull. Oh and get lots (over 20) non internet sources.

This is the class for people that don't like to attend and want an easy A. No final, just a quiz every week that's absolutely cake if you go to the lecture or student expert day. 1 paper that doesn't require much research. Easy A!
