If you attend every class, attempt homework, and understand concepts rather than individual problems, the class is not difficult. He is a little harsh and difficult to deal with when asking questions in class, but you understand the material, the class is not hard.

My least favorite teacher out. Ever. He is like a textbook, but thinks his time is gold. I have never met a more arrogant, self absorbed person in academia. Tests are tricky, hw and tests are graded brutally. Loves to hear himself talk. Doesn't use blackboard and responds slowly to email. Avoid if you want a someone that cares about students.

Learn ME 302, come to class, and do the HW and youll have a C or B. Hard to get an A, as tests are tricky and very easy to mess up on. This guy's career is almost over so he barely teaches any new material in the course and often cancels class. Gives tests in 2 hour periods in the evening, usually have plenty of time. I would suggest him.

Prof Dixon has an old school teaching style that takes a little getting used to, but he really cares that you learn the material. However, I think the tests are sometimes meant to trick you and don't serve well to show how much you actually understand. His stories in class are fantastic tho! Basically class is fun, tests, HW, and grades are not.

Basically one thing you must do to be eligible to pass: get the ME302 material 100% conceptually correct on one of the 4 tests. This isn't that hard, and the first test is 75% a review from Me302, so concentrate on getting it correct and you'll be fine. Show up to class, interact and be attentive, and most of all, do all the work! you'll get an A

Don't show up to class, and you probably won't get a good grade.. and you certainly won't get sympathy. Bottom line, show up to class, do your homework, and ask questions. In the end, it's not a hard class and he really does want everyone to learn the material. Not an impossible A by any means.

He is an awful grader. If your answers aren't done exactly like his, he takes off massive points. He is also obsessed with material from 302. It was on every test and you have to get it completely right or he will fail you.

Dixon is a very smart engineer. And it shows all the time. He goes a little fast in class and it can be a little intimidating sometimes. Go to SI and do all of the HW problems. He does grade pretty strict on the quizzes, there are no exams, just a quiz every week.

A fairly good professor. Sometimes he'll take a few minutes break from teaching and talk about life issues and current events. He breaks the material down in a clear manner. As long as you do the homework (tests/quizzes are almost the exact same concepts and methods as the homework problems) and go to SI religiously, you should make a good grade

I had all of his old tests and there were little or no similarities until the semester progressed. As mentioned before he is lazy and he started taking questions straight his old exams. On the final three of the four questions were exact problems from previous exams.

Some people like him and some people hate him. If you do your homework and go to his office when you have questions...it really isn't that hard of a class.
