Comment:

I have only had Mary Ann for two courses, but in that time I have watched her ridicule a disabled student for being disabled, call a student a name I won't repeat here, and generally run a disorganized class. One student commented that she knew as much at the end of the semester as she did at the beginning. The University should be embarrassed.

Hard grader. Doesn't put your grades on blackboard so you're pretty much in the dark until the end of the semester. Her classes are her standing in the front with a list of student numbers and calling on random people to answer questions. It does help you learn but she ridicules you if you get the question wrong. You learn a lot.

Dr. Toner is the best! Not many of the other professors still see their own patients and she continues to see patients so the grad students can watch and learn. She has a strange and hilarious sense of humor, so you will never be bored. She is a very hard grader, but you will feel that you've learned so much after taking her class.

Toner is one of the best teacher's I have ever had! She is very strict in her grading, but don't confuse that with being a "bad teacher." She grades so picky to make sure you truly understand the material. If you show up to class and take notes, study a reasonable amount for the tests, and actively listen in class, you will be golden! Love her!!

This lady definitely knows her stuff and you can learn a lot from her. However, if you ever question her opinion or give her an answer she doesn't like, be prepared. She will belittle you and make you feel like a complete idiot.

While this professor is very smart and knows her information, she is not a good teacher. She does not care about her students, thinks of them as numbers (literally). She is also very contradictory and gets a kick out of making people feel bad. She thinks she knows exactly what you are thinking and forms unfair opinions.

She is confusing and can't make up her mind about how she grades things. She tells you to keep your answers short on the test and then you still get counted off because you didn't use enough information. Very contradictory. Rude to students in class and doesn't care. If you have an opportunity to take a class with another professor, DO IT.

She teaches each semester of grad program & has found the perfect situation to bully. Aggregate of her subtle, strategic manipulations is harmful to health, document it. Implements busy work in the name of knowledge and skills assessment. Look @ grad student rights list (grad student handbk)if you come here, but I wouldn't recommend this program.

I think I feel about Toner is the worst case of unrequited love I've ever had! She's a smart, pointed, precise, hilarious, no b.s. woman who says it like it is and freely tells you how you're wrong. She demands participation and understanding. These things don't make her very approachable, but take it as a challenge. Excellent professor.

She is a hard, hard teacher. Study all the time and you will be okay. On the other hand, if you struggle with the material and don't make the grade, don't expect a shoulder encouragement or a helping hand. She is intimidating and she LIKES it that way. This woman is pure evil, and she's on a major power-trip. Don't show weakness because she preys on the weak. Just go home and cry into your pillow, and go to grad school somewhere else.
