Dr. Carden's Intro to Poetry class is fairly easy if you put forth a true effort. There is quite a bit of work involved with reading poetry and answering questions in the book. If you come to class and participate in the discussion, write down the most compelling answer to the question and you will be fine for the exam.

Dr. Carden is such a sweet lady! I recommend her to anyone starting out in an English major. A real stickler for MLA format and focuses on literary criticism heavily. Encourages class participation, but stay on her good side and answer a few questions here and there and you'll do fine.

Grading system is completely arbitrary. Likes to deduct points from your work simply because she would have worded something differently. Not recommended unless you have an otherwise light courseload that allows you to spend the majority of your time focused on hers. Only plus side is that she often gives take-home exams.

A good professor, nice but fair, who actually knows what she's talking about and is passionate. But her papers are almost impossible to get an A on. She focuses very heavily on absolutely perfect formatting and MLA conventions while not really caring about how much you work on writing style and fluency. That frustrated me a lot.

She is a very nice and pleasant lady, but she expects you to know and learn alot about difficult text. This class was mandatory for me, but does not really have much to do with my major. I went to her for help and she said she knows that everyone is struggling with the class, but she really wouldn't help me very much. I would not recommend her.

She is a horrible teacher. Attendance is mandatory, and if you miss a class you will be on her bad side. She grades papers with a high standard, and it is virtually impossible to get anything above a C. DO NOT TAKE HER unless you are great at writing.

Wonderful professor - such a sweetheart. She is always available for suggestions and clarity when needed. Book use is everyday, so remember your book. My only complaint was having to take each assignment to the writing center. Other than that, topics are flexible and allow free-thinking. I would absolutely recommend her.

She is a wonderful professor! She is my favorite by far. Anytime a class of hers is offered that is in my level, I for sure will take it! Very high recomendations. She is motherly though, which is nice because I miss home a lot being newer to college! Keep up the wonderful work Dr. Carden!!

One of my favorite professors, she knows what she's talking about and is very helpful. I've taken 2 classes of hers already and they're both pretty consistent: homework every night (easy stuff though) and grades pretty fairly. She takes attendance every day and incorporates it into your grade.

Evidently, others had better experiences with her. But I wouldn't recommend her to anyone unless you don't mind favoritism . She is so unclear about everything, you never know what she expects on assignments. She also lies she told me to continue what I was doing and that I'm doing a great job, then my lovely results are a f*****g C. LAME!!

She is very unfair as far as grading goes. Carden is about just giving As and Bs to who ever she wants for her own reasons. She doesn't give those to students who actually work their butts off. No matter what you do it is IMPOSSIBLE to please her. She is a smart woman but her classes are incredibly boring. Do not take her for Engl. or Literature!

Dr. Carden is one of my favorite Prof's. She's extremely reasonable when it comes to work load and is always available to help. It's your option, but you can develop the same paper over the entire semester which you will turn in for the final. I HIGHLY reccommend Dr. Carden.

easy teacher, but you must do the homework. It'll bite you in the end if you don't. When she wants you to do a paper, you have to do it in format (double space, etc) or she will grade lower. Doesn't clarify what she want's on papers, but overall easy class.

She is a rather smart professor but sometimes is unclear about her assignments and her expectations for a 102 class are very high, not many people would get above a B on papers. Go to class and get ready to fall alseep. Class is pointless to go to and all your grade really depends on is your resarch paper.
