Comment:

Mary is a queen, an icon, and a scholar. She's so positive and bright, even at 8 o'clock on a rainy, dreary Tuesday morning. Her sense of humor is great, and I always looked forward to her class. I've also heard she does really interesting research!

Comment:

Professor DePalma truly cares about her students, and she really wants you to do well. She is more than willing to help if you are struggling. She shows up everyday with enthusiasm, which makes learning easier. It's a difficult but manageable class. If you don't do well it is most likely due to lack of effort on your part, as effort is rewarded.

Does not effectively use class time, as it is usually disorganized and way behind on the syllabus. Will spend weeks talking about the same topic and still few people understand. Can only do well if you do EXACTLY what she wants (in papers and on tests). Terrible study guides with unnecessary info, tough grader, and gives unprofessional feedback.

Mary cares a lot for her students but she also has unrealistic expectations for what they can do. She's very unclear about her tests and crams every bit of information into her exams. Be prepared for stress!

Comes off intimidating at first, but really cares for her students. TOUGH GRADER - and her courses will always be offered at times before the sun rises, so don't try to wait if it will change next semester because it will still be at 8am

This course has interesting material but I was not a fan of Prof DePalma. She was very knowledgable and helpful outside of class but has very high expectations and never seemed very sincere. There is a lot of work involved and she is a tough grader, there are very specific things she looks for in assignments.

Professor DePalma has a vast amount of knowledge and she truly focuses on quality of material and not quantity. Sometimes her lectures seem unorganized but she's very helpful and really wants her students to learn. Also, as long as you follow her instructions, you will definitely be in the A range.

Comment:

DePalma and her motivation class frustrate me quite a bit. She never once goes over the textbook readings and her in class lectures feel disorganized to me. She presents information of course, but, in the end of the class, I'm not entirely sure what she wanted me to know. When studying for exams she gives you a broad SG, but much of it seems new!

Professor DePalma is a really good lecturer who manages to make even dense material interesting and engaging. She's strict but fair and does a great job of making sure you really know the material - her tests are kind of hard but she prepares you well for them.

Mary is a strict, but fair and easy going professor. She knows the subject well and is always willing to help to those who ask. She goes outside the ideas of the classroom to help in other areas, such as class selection. She is a great professor who I highly recommend.

Dr. DePalma's class is not easy, and she runs a tight ship. But she rewards hard work and genuinely cares for her students. This class was so well-organized, and the information was always clearly presented. Expect to learn a lot and have some fun, too!

Professor Depalma is an excellent professor. Her tests are challenging but if you carefully review the study guide you will do well and learn a lot from her class. She is definitely one of the best professors in the psych department and I strongly recommend taking her class.

Mary is awesome. Her motivation class is difficult but very interesting. Her exams are challanging and require lots of studying but they are fair and you will do well if you work hard. She is very nice and always willing to help you. One of the best professors in the psych department. Take a class with her!

Motivation with Depalma was very difficult. She doesn't organize her class all that well. She doesn't discuss most of the reading she assigns and is really unclear and unhelpful in explaining what will be on tests. She goes on tangents a lot. She's hot.

Her tests are hard...you must know the material throughly. She's a very tough grader (esp. on tests), but equally fair--just go to class and know each theory she presents. (Funny too, which is great!)
