Comment:

Dr. Dodson was a fantastic teacher for English Comp II. The thing that I appreciate the most about her is that she truly wants her students to succeed. You don't want to fool around with homework in her class, but if you don't understand something or get behind, she goes out of her way to be available to help in the best way that she can!

I took her English composition two class online. I have never had a problem with an online teacher until I had her. She grades extremely hard, makes absolutely no exceptions, and I personally think she grades on her own opinion like another student on here said. Would NEVER recommend this teachers. Better teachers out there!

She doesn't explain anything and it feels like she doesn't really care about her students at all. Some students have made it clear that what she wants is difficult to understand but she hardly ever clarifies. She also gives out relatively bad grades but doesn't explain why. It also feels like she grades your opinion instead of your actual work.

She was a great professor. She is wonderful at explaining literature at a higher level of understanding. She is not a good professor for someone who wants to fool around and miss classes/assignments or come late. I like her and think that she is effective in her teaching style.

You definitely have to study/read in this class. She does not grade easy and her hand writing is hard to read. But she's very passionate about the subject and class is genuinely interesting. My writing and punctuation has improved significantly. She excepts you to take work seriously and be ready to go to Writer's Corner.

Dr. Dodson was one of the most fun instructors i've had. It's really helpful when you have a teacher who really cares about the subject they are teaching. She is very passionate about her subject and expects you to take the class seriously.

took her for lit of the western world, and loved every minute of it. there's a lot of material, and a lot of reading, but it's well worth it. give her some time, she's way smarter than she first appears, and she does in fact have her doctorate in English. she encouraged a free thinking and original analysis, and she's extremely supportive. loved it

"Dr." Dodson is condescending, arrogant, and biased. She grades unfairly. If you do not agree with her opinion, you will be marked down. She does not want you to think for yourself. She wants you to write a paper praising her way of thought. Class is not "grade-oriented" so you will never be told your grade until the end.

This professor is very difficult. She is not open to other interpretations of the readings she selects. Many of my fellow classmates went to her for assistance and she was not able to help them. Also she does not encourage free thinking. Its english taught in a mathematical mindset. If you select her courses, pay close attention to withdrawl dates.
