never take this teacher!! she dosent know how to use anything but email. instead of uploading stuff she just puts it on the computer and then expects people to come up one by one after class and get the readings. also she's super hard of hearing so you usually have to repeat your questions at least 3 times.

3 WORST PARTs:1) attendance. She will take attendance before and after class. If you are late one second after she call your name, you will be record as absense. 2)3 tests a semester3)Very less rest, and too much knowledge in one lecture(also she loves ancient ARCHITECTURE).Frankly speaking, I learned a lot. I work hard, but got awful grade.

Take notes during class and memorize everything on her study guides and you'll be set for her tests. Easy papers. Participation isn't a big deal. Fairly simple and straightforward class.

Mary is one of the rudest professors I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with for an entire year. Her lectures are boring but a perfect opportunity for doing other work if you have a laptop. Her trips and essays are long and uninteresting. She will kill any interest you might have had for art history.

Mary Edwards is one of my favorite professors at Pratt! She is super spunky and sassy. She wears this adorable red bucket hat and matching LL Bean backpack. For her age, she is still incredibly smart and makes class engaging. She's well travelled and educated - believe she has several degrees. I would take a class with her again in a heartbeat.

As a person, Mary Edwards is very sweet and very funny. But I would not take her class again because I had trouble staying up in her lectures, which were honestly pretty boring. She goes through information quickly and it's impossible to write down everything she says, or even half of it. She doesn't engage the class at all.

Very passionate about art history. Speaks quickly and goes through slides quickly. Doesn't give too much work. Do well on the papers and tests and you will get a good grade. She doesn't like when her students ask questions though.... I would recommend taking her class.

Boring class but easy grade as long as you do what's told and show up to class. Edwards is an overall okay professor, passionate about her work and cracks jokes sometimes.

Ok. She's not amazing. But compared to other Art History teachers, she gives much less work sometimes adds humor to her lectures and is actually a very sweet woman. If you're looking to slack off and not do much, don't take her class. But she's actually pretty good. Art Hist is gna be boring no matter what, but she makes it not as bad to be honest

Ms. Edwards is probably the worst teacher I have ever had. as a person outside of class she is fairly nice, but as a teacher, she blows! nothing is clear, i can barely hear her in class, and when i ask questions shes rude, and tries to make me seem stupid. it isnt appreciated when im trying to learn. AVOID THIS CLASS!!!

Mary Edwards is highly recommended. Her class is not easy but she is delightfully funny, really smart, and uses the Socratic Method of teaching which gets your brain moving and helps you remember more in the long run. Amazing teacher!

Prof. Edwards is intelligent, passionate, and very likely a nice person outside the classroom. HOWEVER, she should not be teaching anymore. Her ideals are archaic, she does not believe in a clear study guides or a reasonable time to take down the massive amounts of notes she gives. Inaudible and bottom line horrid! Save you grade and your time.

boring teacher, uncomfortable classroom, doesn't give you a list of the works of art being studied like other teachers, mandatory (but pointless) MET trips. Essays are easy, tests are easy if you take good notes (or steal someone elses notes) YOU WILL FALL ASLEEP IN THIS CLASS meaning that you will miss something important

If your not into art history this class wont be fun. Marys is hard but she is very clear on what will be on the test and lovable. She made me want to be an art history minor and is honestly one of my favorite teachers.

worst teacher of my life, doesn't know how to make power-points, uses a slide machine in class, verbally spells out every peice, doesnt tell you whats on the test, marks you late if you come in a minute after, unattractive and wears a fanny pack...... DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

If you want to breeze through a semester and learn nothing, this class is not for you. You must be truly interested in art and are eager to learn more. Mary has so much info to give and it's not true that she does not give any hints. She is very helpful, but she is not going to take your test for you. One of the best classes I have taken at pratt.

Gets the material across, and has a few amusing moments. Unfortunately, the class took place early in the morning, and History of Art isn't the most interesting subject ever. It's easy to nod off sometimes in the middle of class. There was A LOT to memorize, so there was a lot of stress in studying for midterms/finals.

Makes Art History your enemy and narrows down NOTHING for quizzes and exams. Her idea of a midterm review is spending a Friday night at the Met telling you her favorite pieces till 10pm. Her required fourth piece of information on ID's is some obscure random fact that is impossible to memorize when you have individual ones for 200 ID's. AVOID MARY!

Does not put the slides online, probably because she doesn't USE digital slides yet. Fair tests, fair grader: if you have ALL of the notes. Do not be late. Not a class you can take a nap during. I'm pretty sure she wrote that review about herself that claims she's 'funny'.
