I had her for Shakespeare & Chaucer, and I honestly wasn't much of a fan. Even though I participated a lot and worked hard, it didn't really pay off. She's pretty aloof and not very interested in individual students. I even tried going to her for help and she was just arrogant and useless.

Dr Erler was the one professor who really challenged and inspired me to try harder in college. I wish i could take her class over because it was awesome and I often blew off assignments because I was working. She is very helpful and she gave me a grade I deserved.

The most brilliant and most fantastic professor I've ever encountered. Her classes are so interesting! You have to do the readings but they are fun and moderate in length. She will help you with your writing and encourage you if you need help. Wonderful woman. Her shakespeare and chaucer class was incredible. Life-changing wouldn't be far from it.

Professor Erler is great. She has a gift of knowing when you know the answer but haven't raised your hand. Shakespeare and Chaucer with her was very enjoyable. You absolutely must do the reading. Do not expect an easy A, but you will learn a lot.

She is so sweet! She will make anything that you say seem interesting or important. You need to do the reading for each class but they aren't long readings. She will go over the readings fully in class with great clarity, but she requires class participation. Minimal work, although she is a tough, but fair, grader. Had he for Shakespeare/Chaucer.

Professor Erler is such a sweet individual. I learned scads from her class. I had her for Texts and Contexts, and her discussions are extremely interesting. She is tough. But a fair grader in the end. With hard work, you'll find that an A is definitely obtainable as long as you put effort into it. Definitely take for a Core Requirement! 4/5 stars

Professor Erler is a unique individual. Her class discussions are great-but you need to DO THE READING, or else she gets annoyed. Very focused on the idea of marriage and love in a medieval context. Her grading is harsh though, and she picks favorites. That being asid, you will learn to be a better writer. Take her, but be on top of your game.

Professor Erler is an excellent professor. There is always lots of reading involved, at very quick paces. Make sure you read the books so you can make comments in class. She is a tough, but fair grader when it comes to papers, but with a lot of hard work you can attain a good grade. She picks interesting works to study.

Honestly, one of the most interesting and rewarding classes/ professors I've had at Fordham (and there aren't that many to be honest with you). Professor Erler is VERY clear, helpful, and straightforward with everything. Just do the readings and go to class. It's worth it. She was a delight.

The woman died years ago but nobody told her (look at her and you will know what I mean). Did not want to take the class but its pretty easy and streight forward. Must do the readings cause she calls on people randomly and gets upset when you didn't do them. Would take her agian.

Professor Erler is EXTREMELY smart. She makes the class very interesting. Although you really need to do the readings and take good notes if you want to do well on the midterm & final. The workload isn't too bad though-maybe a couple hours a week, if that. Take her!
