Didn't get higher than a B on any assignment the whole semester, even on those that I thought I did really well on. Expects a lot of you in your writing. Get ready to write a lot during class and outside of class. Passionate about the topic and easy to talk to. Get ready to share your work for peer editing and revising.

Mary is crazy and eccentric, but that's what makes her amazing. She can be tough when it comes to grades, so you have to put effort into her class. The Personal Essay was the first writing course I took in college, and I definitely think that I've improved in my art because of this class and this professor.

She definitely plays favorites when it comes to grading. You may produce better work than the person who she likes, and you still get a lower grade than them. In class, she is very funny and you will learn a lot about writing personal essays. Although a great professor, I do not recommend for an advanced writing class. Take another professor!

She is a great teacher. One of the best that I have this year. If you're looking to learn and improve your writing take her classes! She is a very fair teacher yet compassionate for her students. She knows her stuff and keeps the classes and content up to date. Fun, and interesting

I have never seen an older woman with so much bounce. She is enthusiastic, animated, and bubbly; she manages to impart at least a shred of her love for writing in most of her students. She's very fair when it comes to grading and will accept a few late assignments.

Her extensive knowledge of the English language is very impressive. You can learn a lot from her if you pay attention to the details. Oh, and her name is Levitt, not Leavitt. She is extremely funny, but serious about her profession. She's in charge of Writing Associates and has contributed to MCLA a lot. Amazing prof. Definitely take her classes!

i can't even count how many classes i had with her. she was certainly my mentor. she encouraged me to get involved in the writing center where i worked for 3 years. she encouraged me to be a ta for her twice. and she encouraged me to write my manuscript. she's encouraging and fun to be around.
