Comment:
I've taken three of Prof. Valentis' classes (210, 338, & 350) and she is, by far, one of UAlbany's best professors. She's super into psychoanalysis and popular culture so her classes are naturally entertaining. As long as you're passionate about what you're writing, she will be more than happy to give you an A.

Professor Valentis is HANDS DOWN the best professor I've ever taken. I've taken her two of her classes so far (210&338) and plan to take one next semester. She's very knowledgeable in her field, and then some. She also very open about assignments and encourages you to write what you're passionate about. Phenomenal professor, phenomenal woman.

One of the best teachers/professors and classes I have ever had. I enjoyed the class so much that I wasn't reluctant to attend it. She is really cool, easygoing, nice, and does a good job of making the class fun as well as fascinating. An overall great experience with not a huge workload. Take her!

Amazing teacher and amazing class. A real eye opener. People who don't like it, probably didn't pay attention or skipped class and never read the material. I highly recommend her. Very professional and she know her stuff.

Great teacher. The class is mad easy. I have nothing bad to say about her expect she goes on rants every once and a while and i sometimes get lost in her thoughts. Every class is an easy discussion and interesting to listen to. You watch movies and read easy and fun books. She's a great person to take 210 with!

Have taken two classes with her. Haven gotten A's in both classes. First class we did read any texts, second class was structured only around texts. Brings in a lot of interesting ideas into discussion. Very friendly and open to your opinions!

Comment:
Easy teacher, easy class but very unstructured. She has many theorists that the class is supposed to be structured around but most of the discussion is usually what the class brings up at random. The class is still pretty enjoyable, but not really a typical 300-level english course.

She is so vague in her assignments. Literally assigns you and paper and lets you argue anything. There were no in class tests the whole semester which was nice but the papers were tough because of her general ambiguity in what she wants out of them. Only take Valentis if you can handle an unstructured class.
