DO NOT TAKE! I'm at the halfway point of music 316 with her and she is awful. She rambles on and you dont take notes because you buy the notes. The tests are hard as hell. Spare yourself the pain and frustration of taking this class or any class with her because she is absolutely awful!

She's really old and so she teaches in the old lecture style. But she is SO boring. I don't know how I survived without my computer. I withdrew while "passing" but I would have failed...and I'm a music major. Unreasonable amount of work. Don't take if you want an easy grade. Did I mention this is a night class?

This woman is terrible! Her tests are long and ridiculous. She expects you to know everything about all kinds of music. She speaks softly and when you ask a question she gives you a dirty look. She also dehumanizes you in front of the entire class! Do not take this class!!!!+

This class is awful. Do not take it if you can avoid it. I took this for a gen. ed. and it was really hard. She makes you memorize so many terms, songs, and composers. It is just way too detailed for a gen. ed.!

A sweet, brilliant lady, but a very dry and uninspired teacher. Her lectures are meandering and she emphasizes things she won't test on. Don't be fooled by her take home tests--15+ page responses are not a guaranteed A. Study guides were little help. In all, you'd be better off buying the textbook and memorizing it...that's what the course was.

Terrible professor. Without a doubt will be the most boring class you've ever taken. You cant even take notes to pass the time. You buy the notes. Her study guides are so long they are pointless. She is so sweet but not worth taking a class with. I feel terrible for every student who has to sit through her classes. Do Not take a class with her.

I took her 110 class. Gen Ed. Supposed to be easy, but NO she had us reading TONS every night, we had to listen to at least 5 songs every night like 15 times each. One time she told us to listen 50 TIMES! she's crazy DON'T TAKE HER! she wants you to memorize everything she says which is A LOT and will test you on EVERYTHING POSSIBLE horrible class.

Oh man. Such a sweet lady, but really, her class is very difficult to stay awake in. She does take attendance, tests are demanding, on the plus side there's not really homework, except you have to go to 2 concerts during the year and write papers on them. She does want everyone to do well, but still, it's just very boring. There's better gen eds.

Ok. I love college and I love music but this teacher made me change some thoughts. She is very feminist and thinks her thoughts should be yours. Her mid-term took everyone in the class about 3 days and 10-17 pages long. It was a take home but it was ridiculous. I would not suggest taking her class. Spare yourself the pain.

Where to begin: Our take home midterm was basically 42 short answer questions...i did it in about 18 pages. The class doesn't move along as I thought it would either. I was thinking we'd be on the 1960s & Janis Joplin by at LEAST March, & we only MENTIONED them on the LAST day of class when we had ~15 minutes left. She reads off notes, too. Boring.

If you have a brain you will listen to what I tell you. This is the worst class. She lectures for 60 minutes about everything she can, it's never clear what's important enough to take notes on. She gives challenging study guides for somewhat challenging tests. Her assignments are not fun at all. It's an overall boring class with a lot of work
