This professor had us buy $180 book with a software license and then didn't even use the software. The book alone was available online for $40. Then she scheduled a quiz to only be open on Labor Day. I am 4 days into this class and already think she is terrible.

How does this woman still have a job at winona state? She does not 'teach' a single thing all semester but expects you to know everything. She assigns homework she doesnt even know how to do when shes approached with questions. Her response to everything is "Its in the syllabus." No personality, no passion, and lacks any concern for her students

Absolute worst professor I had through college. Do everything in your power to get someone else. Seriously avoid her at all costs. The course will teach you nothing and she has no plan for how she grades, it's completely random.

The (online) class is two group projects, 3 discussion posts, weekly quizzes, and a midterm and final test. Here's the thing, the weekly quizzes are easy (because the internet), and the midterm/final are SO hard because we aren't taught anything. You have to teach yourself everything, and even still a majority of the class failed. DON'T TAKE.

She did not teach a single thing all semester. Just read from textbook and took weekly D2L quizzes. Only meet first day, for group presentation, and final. Book felt a little out of date, but material is easy and you can easily get an A in the class.

I took this course online, and met only to take the two tests. She was horrible at helping us. She didn't even know how to do the assignments that she was giving us. I would avoid this class at ALL costs!! I'll probably end up having to re-take it for my major. NOT OKAY

Comment:

Professor Astani's class was hybrid which makes the class as easy or hard as you make. It is and easy class to get a good grade in and Professor Astani will do anything to help you out as long as you go in and see her. Emailing her at times was hard to understand, but she did reply very quickly. I suggest taking this course with her.

Astani is willing to help if you go to her office hours, she doesn't usually make any sense but if you take the time to go to her office she will help. I think she was so annoyed of me going to her office she just raised my grade so I'd stop. Boring class but just do the assignments and you'll do fine.

She does not respond to emails, and if she does it takes her 3 or 4 days to do so. Tests are difficult, and not much time is given to complete tests and quizzes. Does not use the grade tab on d2l, so you have to track your own grade if you want to have any idea where you stand in the class... its just a surprise at the end of the semester.

I couldn't believe how horrible this teacher was...it was one huge mistake taking this class with prof. I took this class online with Astani. You must be motivated to take this online. There are almost weekly online quizzes (20 questions in 10 minutes). Group projects which she grades pretty easily on. You only meet 3 times, one is midterm and one is the final. The questions are straight from the book, you'll read the textbook a lot.

I think I would rather listen to paint dry...I don't mean watch, I mean listen. Very unclear on what you need to know. Has no right to ever call herself a teacher. TESTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE. The class had over a 50% drop rate. If your choices are between her and a cactus take the cactus, you'll get more out of the course. AVOID!!!!
