Ol' Masoud is a great guy. Friendly, nice, approachable, chatty, amazing human. His lectures however are very tricky to follow, I heavily suggest reading the topics BEFORE class, so that the examples and intuition he provides actually help. He tends to go on tangents quite a bit but its fun to listen to him. His exams however cause acute death.

Comment:
I think that Masoud did a good job of teaching probability but he did focus a lot on the beginning of the course (combinatorics and axioms of probability) and the last part of the class felt rushed. While I thought his final was challenging, it was not unfair. That being said, he is a very caring prof and is very kind during office hours.

Spends all class to prove some theorem that won't be on the test, writes extremely small on the board so it's impossible to see, go super slow at the beginning and rushes the end. Midterm was fair. but the final was another story. I was able to do every question shown on the tutorial yet i died on the final. Only passed because of the curve.

For an honours class, the workload is fair. His notes are detailed and helpful. For assignments, it's recommanded to read the textbook a bit on your own since they are all textbook questions (which are hard!). To do well on the exams, make sure you mastered all homework questions since he basically tests exactly those.

A very helpful professor but the course was poorly paced, with hard concepts rushed through at the end. Also look out for a killer final. the midterms and assignments are easy though.

Very nice man, always open to answer questions. Final was reasonable once you realized every question was out of the notebook. Cared about his students which is important

Very friendly an helpful prof. I found that going to class was not necessary since everything can be found within the textbook. Final is very difficult, and the questions are sometimes not clear.

4 assignments through out the semester, then covers 2 chapters in the last 3 classes and gives an assignment with double the amount of questions as usual. Pacing in this class is very poor.

Such a nice and helpful professor! Explains well the material. His exams are difficult, and to do well on them you will have to work very hard on your own. Recommended.

Really knows his stuff and teaches it pretty well. He's really straightforward with his exams, although they are pretty tough. Take this class if you want to learn the material well and aren't too concerned if you get a middling grade

The guy's nice, but as usual, the final was hard. Also, Prof. Asgharian spent a lot of time at the beginning of the term on relatively easy stuff, and gave the last three chapters (obviously the most difficult ones) in 2 weeks. However, he curved the marks, but still... If you can choose another teacher, do it. Otherwise, work and pray hard.

Nice guy and knowledgeable but not a pleasant class. The most difficult parts of the course were skimmed over in the last 2 classes and were not taught adequately. His finals are known to be quite difficult. You're better off with another prof for this course.

Good professor. Knows his stuff and teaches to the exam. Questions are straightforward and straight out of the book. You don't need to go to class to do well, but it doesn't hurt and the lectures aren't too boring even though the subject is pretty easy (for math students at least).
