He assigns a metric ton of homework, and I dreaded going to his class every morning, but he knows everything about chemistry. He is pretty much always on campus, and posts his schedule so you always know where to find him if you need help. If you can pass his class, any other chemistry course you take will be super easy. Tough, but well worth it!

Dr. Monzyk is really educated on his topics, unfortunately he isn't always the best at communicating it back to his students. Sometimes goes quickly over complicated topics and expects you to remember them. I will say for the most part, he is good at explaining if you listen closely or ask questions. Always makes time for office hours with students

Freaking difficult. Unreasonable standards. Can't explain things, and won't even if you ask. Kids like me and every other kid have difficulty telling what the correlation is between anything he does in lecture. Hate his class. I will rejoice when it's over. Might even drop if he becomes anymore reasonable. (Read first letter of each sentence)

A very callous professor. One of those professors that likes to "weed people out" and give little help to anyone with the expectation that people will just magically understand the material. Don't expect to actually learn much in his class.

He could be the world's smartest chemist but his ability to teach is akin to a rock. Explains nothing, assumes you know what he knows, and proceeds to repeat information he has already spoken when asked a question. (In which the question was not answered.)

Ungodly amounts of homework. I spent at least 3 hours a day stuyding, and still failed. Out of his 9 chem2 students, 3 passed. Not very helpful. Unfair, rude and degrading to students. Would always leave us alone and clueness during labs.

Intro to Chem was a very difficult class, however Dr.Monzyk made it fun. I don't recommend taking it over the summer term unless you have 4-5 hours a day to dedicate to homework. Very challenging, but it makes every other class seem easy! He helps you whenever you need, and teaches you in a way that makes you really learn the material.

He is super hard and gives so much homework. He can be helpful at times but when i would ask him questions on problems he would say "well what do you think?" I didnt know thats why i asked him for help!

I am not a person who does well in chemistry, but he was there to work with me everyday when needed. His devotion to his students is immeasurable. The class was hard, but if yoou worked at it you could pass. I got a C and it was truely the toughest grade I have ever earned.
