Having him next semester too! Very helpful and does one on one conferences to ensure you to getting that good grade. You can submit essays in as many times as you want until its perfected. Has a very calming voice and is relatable. A lot of specific question 10 point quizzes from readings.

I've had Mr. Fort twice now. This passed summer as well. He is a caring teacher, who understands his students and give great feedback on discussions. One of the best English professors I've had!

Professor Fort is a great teacher. If you do what he asks, you will do fine in his class. Yes, you need to be a good writer to do well in his class, but he is always willing to help you whenever you need his advice or opinion. Additionally, his jokes are well-timed and hilarious.

I had Professor Fort for two classes (Classical Mythology- got a B- and World Literature online - got an A). You have to do the work and participate if you expect to do well in his class, which is to be expected. He's very nice, cracks jokes on occasion, and has an interest in what he is teaching. He has a nice speaking voice too. I liked him.

The best professor I have ever had. He expects his students to read, participate in class. Follow along with the class and don't slack off on the reading. Great sense of humor and willing to help students if they ask. Really makes class enjoyable and fun! Recommend this class to people that enjoy reading and writing! He hates liars! Don't lie!

In my opinion Matt is the best professor I've ever had. Yes, he expected one to come to class, participate, and do one's work. If one did all those things the class was a breeze. I loved his posts on D2L, he always said some witty thing at the end to make one laugh. His tests are hard. They are Lickert scale tests, but if you study you will do fine

He went off track in class quite often. Wasn't too helpful when answering my questions, found his answer irrelevant to my questions. Found his grading a bit harsh, went from B's on papers in other writing classes to D's and F's in Forts.

Very smart. He is a stickler about deadlines, but in a high-enrollment, lower-level required class like this, I suppose he has to be. He gives good feedback on your papers. If you want to improve your writing, you should take his class.

He's a real college prof. He even wears the jackets with elbow patches! Really funny guy . . .hes one of the toughest profs Ive had tho. He has a very dry sense of humor. Class is fun but don't let that catch you off guard. He makes everything sound so easy. Then you get your paper back and reality kicks in.

I took Am. lit from him last year. He's awesome. He knows everything about lit. The discussions were always great and his reading previews were funny and interesting. His tests are brutal. hes not a "hand holder." Make sure you ask questions if you're lost--otherwise he assumes you are keeping up. He expects a lot and hes a tough grader.

He's a tough grader but he gives a lot of good suggestions to improve your writing. Go to his office and get him talking about rhetoric or lit. and you'll see how much he has to lower his IQ to teach these 1000 level courses. He is too smart for his own good.

Make a point to talk with him outside of class. He will always help, but you have to do the work. I learned a lot from him. He's also one of the funniest profs. I've had. He should teach at a university.
