I have to disagree with the comments here. If you have any interest in Political Science I don't know how you can dislike his class. The man will guide you through some of the greatest works ever written, and lecture in such detail that you don't have to worry about analyzing the raw text. Go to class, take DETAILED notes and study.

This is the hardest/ most boring class I have taken in college. If it were taught by anyone else it would have been reasonable. Mandatory attendance 3 papers 2 exams. Lectures only, no discussion. I am a political science major and he made me consider changing it. I would go well out of my way to avoid taking a class with him again.

He is very intelligent. I would not recommend this class to anyone. Very vague, notes don't make sense, and wont help you. I went to him for help before each paper and test--DID NOT HELP. I know I tried my hardest in this class however, I was EXTREMELY unsatisfied with this professor. If you want to take this class, DONT TAKE IT WITH PARKS.

He is boring and sometimes hard to understand but he is a nice guy. We had 2x1000wrd reading response papers (on the assigned readings) and 1 2000wd paper and 2 exams. Not bad.

Comment:
Parks is obviously a very intelligent and articulate man that being said he was extremely boring, completely subjective in his grading and extremely political. Felt as though he didn't want to teach about law just politics. Class discussion was encouraged but student opinions were promptly shot down or manipulated.

Comment:
It is obvious Parks knows what he is talking about. He is clearly a very intelligent man, with a lot to say about politics. that being said, his class was a tad boring. It was 3 straight months of lecture. if he were to quiz and or have required class discussion where he actually participated with the students, it would be great.

Very knowledgeable professor, but extremely boring. No homework or quizzes, only a few tests and one essay. As long as you take notes and study the tests aren't too hard.

Parks is a cool guy, his class certainly is boring, but he knows a lot about foreign affairs, and told us about his experience in the Soviet Union. I certainly wish he would've had some class discussion.

nothing extraordinary. lectures are kind of boring and monotonous but he explains everything really well. there are quizzes every class so its important to do the reading, otherwise the class is rather easy and Prof, Parks is a pretty nice guy.

I respect Dr. Parks a lot and he did certainly put his all into the class. That said, there is a boringness level and too much emphasis is put on daily reading quizzes.

Extremely boring. Nice that class is at night so you are less likely to sleep through it. At the same time it makes it much easier to skip.
