I took his online MIS 404 class and it was pretty good. Lectures were straightforward and clear, he gives you break on your labs if you forget to add in a number or something. Pretty easy class, but you still learn some stuff. Solid choice.

He took forever to get our grades back. Never gave a straight answer to any questions -- his answer was always "reference the syllabus." Office hours online didn't really help out. Used MS Project for the semester-long project that didn't really teach us anything. Would avoid if possible. Nice guy, but not the best prof or best class.

Swinarski's class is wicked easy. He wants students to do well. He really knows his stuff which can lead to him explaining complex SQL stuff as simple and easy when it takes a bit more work to actually grasp. Lectures are incredibly boring, however, but Matt definitely has a good sense of humor and peppers in some super dry jokes here and there.

The class is very easy. Swinarski grades homework easy and the tests are open notes. He occasionally goes on tangents, but they usually have to do with some sort of job he has had in the past that relates to what is being taught.

Overall, Matt's a good teacher. Sometimes he goes off on a tangent, but hey. Just shows he's obviously into the material. Always fair in testing material and homework assignments, and gives you tips on what's important as far as interview-type questions if you are majoring in MIS.

Not a very good professor, at all...too confuse, no clear evaluation criteria, does not provide feedback, does not allow discussion in class. More concerned to brush his own personal knowledge and PhD in students face than to actually teach. Avoid if you have alternatives.

The hardest part of this class is the design part. Definitely keep that fresh because it's half of the final. A lot of his jokes fall flat and it makes them even more funny. Awesome teacher.
