Ms. freed was an excellent teacher. i can honestly say that she changed the way i thought about the subject matter. shes witty and funny, and isn't stern at all. she did use the text alot, but it wasnt difficult, and classes were mainly just informal discussions. the projects were AWESOME - intimidating, but lots of fun!

Comment:

As an older student I take these ratings with a grain of salt as I know a lot the negative ratings have to do with the maturity of the person leaving them. This stands true for the low rating of this professor. Show up to class, do what is expected of you and participate. It's not rocket science people. Ms. Freed is awesome, I will miss her!

I thought taking this class was going to be really fun and life learning!But it turned out to not be what I expected.She lectured way too much to the point where you just don't learn because all you are doing is sitting and listening and just read A LOT!Then she gives you writing assignments that are long and not necessary.It was a monotoned class

Professor freed, very is very intrested in humanities. seemed like an arts and crafts class at times... if you listen, participate in the classroom conversations she will respect your ideas, if you don't participate and expect to do well look elsewhere.....

Freed is no angel. In class discussion SHE WILL REMEMBER WHO SAID WHAT AND WILL GRADE YOU SUBJECTIVELY. IF YOU SAY WHAT SHE WANTS TO HEAR, YOU WILL DO FINE BUT IF YOU EXPRESS YOUR OPINION THAT SHE WON'T AGREE, BEST LUCK TO YOU. And her class is more like an English class than creativity class. There will be excessive amount of reading and writing.

One of the worst teachers around. I missed my FIRST class and emailed her to ask about homework, and she said "Sorry you had to go to Emergency Room but I don't have time for this. You should have gotten the information from other student." If you miss her class, she won't give you any info on assignments even if you miss the class for first time.

What an awful teacher! She lacks empathy, she is all around boring. I was very interested in learning about creativity but after taking this class, I am disappointed. Bland lectures w/ biased opinions. She also have favorites that she will be lenear towards few of those people she likes. I don't recommend her class. She thinks too highly of herself

I really liked this class. I think most people who had a problem with it are probably just bitter because of their lack of creativity, interest, and willingnes to work. She was a wonderful teacher who has interesting and inspiring things to say and teach...if you know how to listen.

She is ok. Very clear, but boring lectures. I wish I could skip but class only meets twice a week. The material is pretty interesting, but she is just bad at presenting and teaching.. Take the other professors for HUMI 1.

Freed is a wonderful woman and teacher. As long as you pay attention, you will do fine. She is very open minded, and if she can see that you are making an effort in your assignments and participation, you will be rewarded. Whoever said her accent is fake-she's from South Africa. Maybe you shold do some research before posting. Everyone's creative!

I wasn't excited about this class before I took it, but is was an excellent class once I decided to participate and have fun with it. She's not the easiest teacher, but is passionate and really wants to get to know her students. Don't have a negative attitude going into it - stick with it and it will be worth it!!

she talks a lot and has little bit of what sounds like a fake accent to me. she comes off as an elitist hippie, and says she is open-minded, but if you dont agree with her, the class turns into an hour long "discussion", where she just argues.

Nice teacher, informative, knows what shes talking about! Grades fairly. She lectures the whole time (uses a lot of big words too). Paper due every week, a few projects. To do good u must have a high critical thinking ability and write decent essays.
