Great lectures. Thorughly knows her subjects colonial and revolutionary history and gives well rounded perspective. Uses great books but a lot of reading and papers required. Very fair grader and expects attendance and participation. You certainly learn.

so boring. annoying. hard grader. 5 assignments and 2 exams. not really understanding about certain things. shes old. if you want to get an A be expected to read a lot and be one of her favorites. other than that shes a hard professor.

Dr. Lurie uses powerpoint slides with a little bit of information but all of class is lecturing. Take good notes! Exams are not so bad as long as you study. She assigns many books to read, so start reading as soon as possible! She was on track with the syllabus all the time and she is very organized and fair. Good professor just a lot of reading.

She is the most annoying prof I have ever had gives more work in senior sem then all the rest of profs, 4 books outside of like 5 papers including a tedious long final paper. She nitpicks and insist we ask questions about stupid topics like building canals in new jersey, take her as a last resort

She is a very annoying professor. She gives you these long, boring books and expects you to read EVERY single page. She assigns readings before class, and if she asks a question and no one willingly raises their hand, she pulls out the roster and starts calling on students.She's not that difficult, but the work can be tedious at times.

She is the best teacher in the history department. You have to do an exceptional amount of work, there are usually 3 short papers (1-3pages) and 2 long papers (5-7 pages), not a class you want to take if you just want to skate by. Fair Grader. Offers Extra Credit. Gives Review Sheet.
